Is anyone watching the Senate?
They've been arguing over who has how much time, and when so and so can speak, and in what order, and what happens if so and so can't speak, etc., for the last 30 minutes! It's disgraceful. Our government inaction.

Lott, Warner seem to be the problem.

(Spelling intentional.)

1. Gasbags
They all could have spoken in the time it took to figure out the speaking order.

How silly.

3. Warner wants time for Hagel, Collins and himself
while Lott and McConnell said that all republicans will vote against voting on the resolutions. I am totally confused.

6. Byrd seems to be the stumbling block
He won't give up his full hour. Warner wants time back and forth for debate, including Snowe, Hagel, etc. Byrd is insistent on his full hour. Now he is going on about coal mines.

7. I think it means more than just looking silly. It is to slow this
silly thing down. They are going to sign some thing that means nothing but for what it will say and some do not want it even said. What they should be voting on is bring the troops home now and not just talking about it. I am hoping this is the start of bring them home. What is wrong with this Dem. party? None of them want this war and say it but will not say no more money to the whole killing thing.

17. No, Byrd asked for the time first and was granted the time
Durbin wanted to steal 10 minutes of byrd's time and Bryd said no, he wanted his full 10 minutes which he had requested long before these two (Durbin and Lott) were there seeking time.

I had to step out, but last I saw, Lott and Durbin were going to split 10 minutes at 5:30, just before the resolution debates were to begin. I might have missed something though, as I said, I had to step out.

18. Warner and Collins and Hagel are waiting
to speak about Iraq, and Byrd is droning on and on. I respect the man very much for his knowledge and the dedication to the Constitution, but he really needed to let us hear what the Republicans who are against the surge are going to say.

Warner is up now, talking about the miners, too.

but the complexity is how to bring it to the floor under the rules.

So is he going to chicken out, or what, and go along with the Republican-Americans on their rubber stamping.
