It really is easy to make fun of Anna Nicole Smith |
|
Let's face it, she sure wasn't the second coming of Albert Einstein. She also had oversized appetites for both drugs and food. Like many addicts she had her pathetic moments. In all honesty I don't know much about the woman, aside from the stuff we read. I do know though how rough being an addict can be. I know wanting that next drink so bad your teeth ache. I know wanting to drink to forget, and drink some more to forget some more.
For all of her millions of dollars, the image I will most recall is the total sadness of giving birth on the one hand, and going to a funeral for her son so soon after.
It really is easy to make fun of Anna Nicole Smith, it also is mean spirited. I thank the person who posted the tribute thread. I learned some stuff I didn't know.
From one addict to another, RIP Anna, you should go straight to heaven as you did your time in Hell.

1. No It Isn't. She's Dead. It Shouldn't Be Easy To Make Fun Of Anyone Who Just Died Tragically. |

2. She was like Elvis and Marilyn Monroe rolled into one. |
|
Which means that some people will find her to be truly rocking, while others will find her to be incredibly distasteful. I'm not bothered by either side.

I have no particular care for her, never really knew much except for the horrible stuff I saw on TV. Your tribute is very nice and heartfelt. Thank you, it was nice to read after all the nasty things today.

16. A very tragic family. First her son and now her. |
|
I hope her infant can be raised by some good folks. He is a marked child by the media, even before he understands the concept. Sad sad sad. :(

17. The alleged father will finally get the paternity test |
|
he has sought. If he wants custody at that point (assuming his paternity is shown), it probably would be his, but it would still be up to family court. No one really knows if her marriage to Howard Stern was a sham or not. It was pretty clear from her TV show that he really loved her, but she treated him like an employee.
And her estate's lawyers get to battle it out with her the lawyers for her billionaire deceased husband's son's estate's lawyers.

8. she lived and died in a media bubble, and, whatever else has happened to her, the last six months |
|
were, no doubt, incredibly hard on her.
I wish her peace, and I wish her daughter a good and happy life.

10. I've always has a sympathetic spot for her... |
|
I remember admiring her when she was first discovered, for being beautiful without being skinny. I clearly remember her in blue jeans riding a horse, bouncing along through the field, curvaceous as could be, gorgeous, and with no clue what a train wreck fame could be. Despite the unseemly side of her life, I still felt she had a naive streak, and a kind heart.

12. She lived fast and died young. Her choice. |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 10:09 PM by Rick Myers
Her legacy will be a circus of idiots!
Her son got his drugs from mom. You want to celebrate THAT??
And now she leaves a very sick six-month old daughter. Who da daddie?
It is not mean spirited, it is the truth. She was a nut case and it's amazing she lived so damn long...
All her friends expressed the same thoughts in the media.

13. There was a lot of pathos and sadness in her life |
|
Anna Nicole was no Princess Diana, who ultimately used what she had to benefit charitable purposes like landmine eradication and AIDS orphans.
She was no Marilyn Monroe, more talented than many acknowledged, more tormented than we knew.
She wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack, and put on an appalling display with that "reality" show.
But Anna Nicole Smith supported the son she had at 18, and then watched him die 20 years later. She had to fight a "stepson" older than herself to avoid being cut off with nothing when she was widowed (I ask you, would she have gone to court if that man had the graciousness to just set her up a trust fund with a fraction of that money?). And she gave birth to a daughter whose paternity is in doubt and whose infant body has already become a financial and legal football for those who want control of her inheritance.
The woman had more sadness in her life than we will ever know. RIP, Anna Nicole Smith, RIP.
