2. If they can keep delaying the vote into tonight,
the actual outcome and any fanfare that might get into the friday news dump will be totally obscured-especially on a long weekend. Nobody will be paying attention to anything except american idol or the upcoming game.

3. Won't That Be The Case At This Point Anyways?
Obvioulsy the later it gets, the worse it will be, but even now, any story will be in at least the Friday Afternoon Dump, and many people won't hear about it.

4. This is a sizable story anyway, and postponing the vote
has the potential of becoming THE story. The long weekend only exists for federal employees, not for everyone else.

5. I noticed that too....
But the Rs say this is a "nothing" resolution, so why delay the vote?

Nancy needs to get her whip out

6. I agree. Pelosi should notify people who have NOT spoken already
that they have until 3pm to get themselves heard and then they will proceed immediately to a vote.

7. Can't they just turn in their speeches?
And still be a part of the record? Many aren't finishing, and noticed some say "turning in the rest of my comments to be part of the record".

Cspan just flashed "each member gets 5 minutes, vote expected later today"....
