Tony Snow: "Things always go wrong. As a matter of fact, it happens in every war"

http://www.playfuls.com/news_10_14816-Snow-Dont-Give-Al-Qaida-Recruiting-Tool.html

<snip>

But Snow told NBC's Tim Russert on "Meet the Press" Sunday that "things" indeed went wrong in Iraq, though he refused to give ground on the need for the war.

"Yeah, of course (things went wrong), it's a war," Snow said. "Things always go wrong. As a matter of fact, it happens in every war. But I tell you, you want something to go wrong? Have the United States leave before the job is done in Iraq and ... give al-Qaida the biggest recruiting tool of all, which is to say, 'We made the Americans leave.'"

2. See? Total failure is, in essence, just a whole lot of "things going wrong"
...and since "things always go wrong", total failure is to be expected and accepted as normal.

Understand now? :crazy:

4. How the hell would Snow know? He's just another republicon chickenhawk.
They love to pretend they have a clue about war, but Snow never served ONE Flipping Day.

He's just another republicon chickenhawk.

7. I heard that and said a loud "WTF" about the "recruiting tool" theory...
It makes no sense. If we withdraw, it's a recruiting tool for Al Qaeda? Why? The motivation and opportunity to fight Americans occurs when our forces are THERE. "Oh good, they're gone, let's join up" is just ridiculous. More like, "The only thing they understand is fear and violence and there's a need for me to join" -- invading Iraq and throwing it into chaos in the first place was the prime "recruiting tool."

These people are such liars.

8. Tell it to the ones left behind
"why is'nt Mommy coming home from Iraq?" Things Go wrong, la la dee da...

"where are my legs?" Things Go Wrong, la la dee da...

"My son died for what?" Things Go Wrong, la la dee da...

Now for the perfect world outcome;

"Whaddya mean I'm going to prison for lying and treason?"

Things went wrong, but now we're gonna make 'em right again.

12. The US already gave al Qaeda the biggest recruiting tool of all
It's called IRAQ, and consists of (but is not limited to) the following actions.

  • Invade and occupy a country that was no threat in order to control its oil.
  • Leave the borders wide open so foreign entities can meddle (Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc)
  • Detain, torture and kill innocent people.
  • Loot the country using an array of provisional government officials, private contractors and mercenaries.
  • Foment sectarian division by staging attacks on local forces and holy sites
  • Keep civilians oppressed by failing to provide basic necessities (security, water, power, health services, education).
  • Install a puppet regime backed by Islamic militias that further oppress and divide the people.

We can't win this precisely because BushCo has done everything in its power to motivate the terrorist recruiting network -- no propaganda required.

BushCo did exactly what bin Laden wanted. Leaving now would simply be forestalling the inevitable.

13. Another tried and true axiom on war .... "The first victim in war is truth."

The BushCo administration has proven that abundantly.

18. But when we start the next war with Iran, then things will go just right
Right, Tony?

I'm sure that Little Big Russ was all over Tony, running down a detailed list of things that had gone wrong, and asking what the administration's Department of Lessons Learned had learned, right?

Right?

Oooh, listen, crickets!
