Why are OUR tax dollars being used to sponsor NBA games? |
|
Let's get real here...the US MARINES are a sponsor of the NBA games.:wtf: I have a hard time seeing how THIS is an appropriate use of OUR tax money, especially when Public Service Announcements are given to the military for free AND especially when this "commander in chief" says that UNLESS Congress passes what HE wants, our soldiers FIGHTING in Iraq will do without, yet the stateside military is sponsoring EXPENSIVE NBA games. This is simply beyond the pale.

2. All I know is that I asked... |

George Tenent to explain why this is happening, and he said, "It's a slam dunk honey" and then he began polishing his Medal of Honor with a fine shammy.

3. Well if you know anything about advertising. . . |
|
. . .the NBA reaches the demographic that the Marines are trying to reach. If I were the Marines media buyer I would buy the NBA, NFL, BET, MTV, Maxim, etc. But of course I would never consider being the Marines media buyer.

In this case, "sponsorship" means "advertising"

7. I know quite a bit about advertising, thank you |
|
Which is WHY this is flagrant abuse of our tax dollars. The Military gets FREE time in the form of public service announcements and I cannot justify our marines in battle going without body armor in order for them to recruit another kid to fill his spot when he is killed because there "wasn't any money" to protect the one we already had. Being a sponsor and buying advertising are quite different...if YOU knew anything about advertising.

6. Military spending is completely out of control. They write blank checks |
|
to those bastards, yet when 9/11 happened & when Bin Laden got away nobody is held accountable. Protecting the country my ass, they are wasting the money on shit like those commercials & sponsorships that pay inflated NBA salaries.

9. Is it The Marine Corps or The Marine Corps League? |
|
Not the same thing. The League is a non-profit.
I don't watch the NBA so I have no clue about the advertising.
