Check in HERE if You Care About Candidates' POSITIONS |
|
I don't care about the candidates' gender, race, what kind of personal relationships they've got, what kind of house they live in, their hair, their clothing, whether they'd be fun to drink with or whether they seem "authentic."
If they're not even willing to tell me what I want to hear on the issues BEFORE they're elected, I sure don't think they're going to DO what I want on the issues AFTER they're elected.
Maybe if more than one candidate were telling me what I want to hear, some of those other factors would matter. But right now, it's not even close.

1. It's ALL about the issues. |
|
None of the rest even matters to me.
Race, gender, hairstyle, big house. Blah blah blah blah.
What about the ISSUES, dammit?

7. Granted we are here in DU because we care about the issues |
|
but not everyone does. There are folks in our party who are there because they care about race, gender, religion, hair, or whatever. Some of those factors are going to matter when we get to the secret ballot stage of things. Those folks will tell you they are with you on the outside but when they get to the polls its another matter. I don't want another 4 years of Republican in the White House. Thats why I'm supporting EDWARDS! He can win in November!

Its the issues that matter.
Unfortunately, no one is telling me what I want to hear. probably because it would mean telling truths that no one wants heard.

5. telling me what I want to hear is sometimes not even enough |
|
I keep remembering the "don't ask, don't tell" bad compromise after the election. Before the election, Bill promised to end the stigma of being gay in the military. That was ONE of the reasons I voted for him.
the DADK policy was even worse, IMHO, because it added MORE stigma than before.
