Would Different Voting Rules Have Changed the Results? |
|
Specifically, how would the outcome have been different with:
1) A caucus without the 15% threshold 2) A closed (Dem-only) caucus 3) A closed (Dem-only) primary 4) A primary with a secret ballot
Just wondering. I think the 15% rule threw a lot of support Obama's way, but it's not clear how much unless first choices were recorded somewhere.

1. In my caucus, if it had been a straight up or down vote... |
|
Edwards would have won, Obama Second Clinton third and Richardson and Biden would have been about on equal ground. The realignment went in favor of Richardson and Obama.

2. Well That is Interesting |

I was actually hoping for some more speculation, but input from the ground is even better.

4. It is What It is Under the Unique Rules in Iowa |
|
What is important about early states is what they show about candidate support. The results clearly do not reflect the distribution of first choices.
