Rethugs don't want a Ronnie Reagan - who they really want is Gordon Gekko |
|
Michael Douglas' character from Wall Street, "Greed is good". They want someone who can look straight into the American public's eyes and tell them they need to fend for themselves. They want someone who can give lip-service to the far-right evangelical Christians, but not actually believe that nonsense. They want someone who will run the United States as if it were a giant corporation.

3. And this is why there is a civil war raging within the GOP |
|
The evangelicals want someone who really is one of them. The problem is, that evangelicals don't always stand for the same thing that the corporatists do.

9. I think the religious-right are starting to realize they were used |
|
That means the greed-head wing of the GOP has no more use for them.

2. That sounds pretty accurate. |
|
They sure do worship mammon... and they love being able to swoon to the lip service without actually being expected to live by what Jesus taught.

5. They want a more refined version of * |
|
They want a version of * who doesn't look like an idiot every time he opens his mouth.
I get the feeling that they don't think * was quite 'corporate' enough for them.

6. He was plenty corporate. |
|
The only thing he didn't do was completely revoke corporate taxes.
He gave the big bag of money to the pharmaceutical industry.
And the war machine.
And the banking sector.
And the energy sector...
They want Jeb basically. A Bush, with their best interests in mind, that is able to complete a sentence.
