Damn...that C--Span Thing with Hillary Live in New Hampshire is just about to Turn Me!
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 06:22 PM by KoKo01
I really liked her views on Children and College Loans and while I have some problems with her Health Care Insurance Proposal...it seems more realistic as to what could get through Congress given how they screw things up.

Her views on Women's issue, Children, Abortion, Children in Foster Care, Non-Profit Organizations and some other issues warmed me up to her. I thought she was very strong on this AND on College Loan Issue where College Students are being left with HUGE LOANS...CREDIT CARD DEFICITS and the REST ...JUST TO GET AN EDUCATION. Hillary QUESTIONS that STUDENTS ARE PAYING BACK 9% on COLLEGE LOANS when FED INTEREST RATE IS 3% or LOWER! She would END THAT! (A VERY GOOD THING!)

I liked her view that China was Importing Back to America...what we Exported to Them..but they were sending us TOXIC LEAD AND OTHER EVIL STUFF for our kids while our jobs are going overseas. Hillary's proposal is that "Green Energy" will make up for Manufacturing Jobs lost to "Third Worlds" and that Tightening of FDA Regs would BAN THESE TOXIC IMPORTS...spoke to me.

She seemed very sincere in this Forum compared to others (maybe Mark Penn told her to "let it roll") but she was much more REAL in this Forum...taking difficult questions.

She NEVER ADDRESSED "NAFTA" and how that sent our jobs overseas or "Media Deregulation" which Clinton facilitated...and she didn't go HARD on BUSH ATTACK but SOFT....

In General ...I'm rethinking HILLARY, though...because there's A LOT OF EXPERIENCE THERE in her views even if I don't agree with all of it.......... I think EXPERIENCE is MORE IMPORTANT than "Pie in the SKY" with OBAMA...

Sorry...I don't like the Clintons...but she kind of won me over...

12. Don't "Rub it In" I'm a Gore/Kucinich DU'er....and I know that
a Clinton Dynasty is NOT GOOD...so don't dig at me that "I've finally SEEN THE LIGHT" on Hillary/Bill Redux.

I'm just saying that there's A LOT OF EXPERIENCE and PERSPECTIVE with Clintons...but what I can't deal with is their COZYING UP TO BUSH I ...NAFTA...MEDIA DEREG...SEC DEREG and NOT Investigating "IRAN/CONTRA CRIMINALITY...and I have MORE ISSUES.

BUT...for EXPERIENCE....HILLARY...UnPlugged did a VERY CREDIBLE JOB.....

She did ...and I'm way "WOO WOO LEFTY" for the TRUTH OUT...like Sibol Edmonds and Prosecuting the Bush Crime Family for WAR CRIMES than MOST DU'ers who are in the BALL GAME!

I think maybe we could PRESSURE Clinton II to go after Bush Family War Crimes easier than with a younger crop of Democratic Candidates? After all...wouldn't the Clintons ...having watched Chimp...be more prone to doing a Starr Invesigation of BUSH than Obama or Edwards? (maybe...maybe not since the Clintons now run with the Bushies...but MAYBE?)

31. aquart, nobody doubts she is a wonderful person. I had thought I'd be
supporting her. But, I expected her to be frank about Bill's mistakes while in the WH and not to make such stupid decisions while senator. Why on earth would somebody give * authorization to go into Iran after what we know about Iraq. For issues like spying, why isn't she taking the leadership (Obama too) like Dodd did and force the senate into a real filibuster for days so that the 'cons have to stand there and justify illegal wiretapping and giving the telcoms immunity.

Hillary (and Obama) are sitting senators and can put there health care bills in now rather than talk about it on the campaign trail. Leadership can start now.

It's wishful thinking though.. And, I'm still thinking of writing in Kucinich or Gore on my Ballot on May 5th when my STATE has its Primary...just about the last of the cycle...so I'm pissed that Iowa and HH and that disgusting Fundie State SC will ALREADY HAVE DECIDED THINGS before "I" GET TO VOTE.

22. OFGS...Her Vote with Lieberman on Declaring ING a Terrorist Organization
which she claimed in "NEO-CON STYLE" to be a vote that "didn't allow George Bush to go after Iran  ...but would be a "Negotiation Point" to get the Iranians to NEGOTIANTE! It was a Pandering to the William Kristol Faction of the Repug Party what she said and it was BILL who told her to do it.

I can't deal with her Neo-Con Apologista....and that's what bothers me about her along with her "Big Pharma Money" that she is so HAWKISH she might hire CONDI because she's a fellow FEMALE to work with Madeline Albright! (THAT'S MY HUGH WORRY ...about Hillary!) Pandering to Lieberman/NeoCons. Otherwise, I think her "heart is in the place mine is" ....from what she said at that New Hampshire Gathering for her Supporters.

and I'm very lefty ...way lefty on the "woo woo side" but I care ABOUT AMERICA SURVIVING....Yet...if we don't prosecute the Bush Crime Family...HOW WILL WE GO FORWARD as a FREEDOM MOVEMENT according to our American CONSTITUTION!

The Clinton's are Globalists...I'd have to cough her down...but she did impress me with her command of the issues...and her thoughtful approach watching her.

But..then I voted for Bill and Hillary before and they SET UP what would allow BUSH II to come and TRASH MY VALUES...and our LAWS and RUN LIKE "ROGUE ELEPHANT" into ILLEGAL WAR!!!

How can I TRUST THE CLINTONS....???

It's ALL I HAVE...since so many dropped out of the Election Process and others are not allowed to be a part of the process.

13. Although I did not see this
and am supporting Obama in the primaries on Tsunami Tuesday (he is my senator, and he deserves a win in his home state), I do want to say your reaction to Hillary is not surprising to me.

When you hear her, especially in person, she is very compelling: both on the level of competence and the level of sincerity. I would in no way count her out of this race, and if she wins it, I will be happy.

People whip themselves up into a negative frenzy about Hillary (mostly from the Chris Matthewses of the world--the Clinton haters--and by the second-hand blogosphere villification)... but when they actually hear her speak, they can't help saying, "damn, she's good."

I remember an op-ed piece from the NYT back in the late summer, where a group of psychologists or neurobiologists or whatever published the findings of a candidate study they did, hooking people up to electronic thing-a-ma-jigs and measuring their responses. People had negative opinions of Hillary coming in, but those negative opinions became conflicted when they actually listened to her.

She can come back. (I still hope Obama wins. I am ready for a new crowd in Washington and a new vision, and his, to me, is the most progressive, despite what many say here.)

too bad they all don't do that. Candidates like Obama have no positions on issues. Just some kind of fluff about "change" and other vapor-positions.

16. I like her, I like her, I like her.
I want to be persuaded about Obama, but I keep coming back to her smarts, her work ethic, and all that she's done for children. She has outworked all of the candidates. That's the kind of drive I'd like to see in the White House, given all the problems we face.

And I am so dang tired of the media pinning her as phony and ruthless. Pleeeassse. Every politician who's run for president has a bit of ruthlessness in him or her. Let's get real. And they all have a bit of phony in them too. Why are the standards for her so much higher than they are for everyone else?

28. After the "Investigations Clinton's Went through" ...WOULD THEY HOLD BUSH's NUTS IN THE FIRE?
That's my BIGGEST QUESTION...with the Clintons. They came in and didn't hold Bush I accountable with Investigations about how IRAN CONTRA violated our Constitution. WILL "CLINTON II" go after BUSH CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY! TORTURE...CORRUPTION OF OUR JUDICIARY SYSTEM...GENEVA CONVENTIONS...and SO MUCH MORE!

If Hillary spoke about doing this...she'd end up like Bhutto...we know this...and she can't say too much...but didn't we vote Reid and Pelosi IN knowning what they were up against...but WHEN THEY HAD THE POWER...they THREW THEIR PROGRESSIVE/ACTIVISTS ...UNDER THE BUS....

Would HILLARY Investigate the Bush Crime Family? Would she and Bill come in and IMMEDIATLY Reinstate Habeus? ...Get RID of Dept. of HOMELAND INSECURITY? And, PATRIOT ACT I AND II and all the other "Buksh CRIME FAMILY" SHREDDING?

She doesn't talk about it...but is it because she knows she'd be dead if she did...or because she and Bill are COMPLICIT with BUSHIES? Nafa/Media Dereg...

I would GO WITH HER.."IF" she would SIGNAL she cared about us who've been FIGHTING SINCE "Stolen ELECTION 2000!

I could go with her and with Bill II ...IF I knew she knew what WE OUT HERE KNOW...that needs to be PROSECUTED ASAP!!! ASAP!!! ACCOUNTABILITY...not SWEPT UNDER THE RUG ...POLITICS!

Come ON HILLARY...GIVE US A HINT!!!!!

Better to have a "Thinking Dem" in there than some "Newbie" who doesn't know what the hell went on during the Clintons...than one who Doesn't? ;shrug:

Just like they did in 2000 and 2004. They will focus exclusively on the repug and we all know it. That is why everyone should be concerned that they are know ignoring Edwards while he came in 2nd in Iowa. It's a real concern and needs to be addressed, NOW!

33. Read what she says,
look at her voting record and vet her yourself. You have to get passed the half-truths, complete lies and fabrications and the overall myths that the Anti-Clinton people keep trying to smear her with.

I'm supporting her because I'm satisfied that she wants generally, the same things I want, and she's tenacious enough to fight hard to get them successfully passed through Congress if elected. I've said it over and over, I'm not looking to be inspired, all I want is a hard-nosed politician who will get things done.

Whether people agree with her or not, or "like" her or not, I really wish DUers were familiar with what she says and what her positions are, rather than just accepting as "common wisdom" all the crap posted here about her.

She's been vilified to the point that ANYthing can be posted about her, and other people will say, "Really? Oh she's so desperate!" It's like a bunch of Heathers in a lunchroom sometimes.
