No Slingshots at Scene of Tiger Attack (don't believe NYpost)
Note, beware believing NYPost's rumors.

http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=4072527&page=1
Police today flatly denied a report that the three victims of the Christmas Day tiger mauling at the San Francisco Zoo were carrying slingshots on the day of the attack, which claimed the life of a 17-year-old zoo visitor.

The denial follows a report that appeared in the New York Post and cited an unnamed police source who made the slingshot claim about Carlos Sousa Jr. and brothers Paul and Kulbir Dhaliwal. Sousa was killed in the attack.

Sgt. Steve Mannina, a San Francisco police spokesman, confirmed that the department had twice talked with Miller, but would not say whether her account had been corroborated or disclose any details of what she had told investigators.

Miller said there were four young men at the big-cat grottoes, but only Sousa and his friends, Paul Dhaliwal, 19, and Kulbir Dhaliwal, 23, have been publicly identified.

Mannina also confirmed that a vodka bottle was found in the car that Sousa and his friends drove to the zoo. He said the results of toxicology tests will not be released before the investigation is completed.

Exactly how and why Tatiana escaped are still matters of speculation. Mannina said no slingshots, laser pointers, BB guns or other devices were found, despite at least one published report to the contrary.

1. Beware the single unnamed source from NYPost

But now the New York Post has reported that according to a single unnamed source the two brothers had slingshots in their possession at the time of the incident on Christmas Day.

4. Wasn't there going to be an examination of the photos the men took before the tiger attacked?
That should tell the whole story right there of what they were doing or not doing.

I did hear they found a bottle of vodka in the car and that the victim was drunk.

I've been to zoos and have seen complete a-holes taunting and teasing and throwing things at the animals. I've wished deep down inside I could throw *THEM* into the cage and see how much shit they'd throw at the animals once in there.

6. Nothing on them yet. Lots of speculation, still waiting and watching.
I wish that anyone caught harassing animals be made to spend community service time cleaning up/caring for those animals.

12. well, if they're so innocent, why did they make a pact of silence right after the attack, and why
are they still refusing to answer questions?

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2008/01/05/MNVKU9L9L.DTL
Soon after their 17-year-old friend was mauled to death by a tiger at the San Francisco Zoo, the two brothers who survived the attack made a quick pact not to cooperate with the police as they rode in an ambulance to the hospital, sources told The Chronicle.

"Don't tell them what we did," paramedics heard 23-year-old Kulbir Dhaliwal tell his brother, Paul, 19.

13. I can't read minds, can only speculate. Think same goes for you also.
You are replying to my reply to the post deriding the idea that any teenage boy would go to a zoo. Are you saying that teenagers only go to zoos to harass animals and make pacts of silence? Or are you saying anyone making a pact of silence is guilty? Or are you seriously asking my opinion as to why I speculate they may have made a pact of silence?

Let me know which and I'll reply.

I did, dammit. I also loved coffee-table books on cats and horses.

Interest in animals, biology, whatever isn't limited to humans with two X chromosomes.
