Holy crap! My sister is leaning toward Edwards. |
|
I'm stunned. She's a fundie living in Canada and has supported Bush for 8 years. (She has duo-citizenship and can vote in the US) We "broke up" when I voted for Kerry in 2004 and just started talking again online. She watched both debates last night and liked what Edwards had to say. Yipes, her deep-seeded liberalism is edging forth.

6. How can anyone not like Edwards? |
|
He is really hitting a nerve right now.
I watched him on C-Span a couple hours ago. He had the father of the girl that was denied the liver transplant by Signa on stage with him. There wasn't a dry eye. He is hitting on the issues that mean the most to the struggling middle class.

|
I have to hand it to her, at least she gave the dems a chance and watched the debate and thought it out for herself.

8. It's about the populism. |

Until recently, we've stopped doing it because it is somehow undignified.

20. Your sister sounds like a friend of my Mom's who stated that |
|
"Bush has turned me into a Democrat for the next 4 election cycles, if I live that long." Her conversion was pre-Katrina, too. It was the corporate greed exacerbated under Dimson**, along with the corruption that did it for her. Edwards would be a nice fit for her. Hubby and I are both coming into contact with repukes who are fed up and disgusted and don't want to vote repuke and the candidate that they mention is Edwards. Apparently getting screwed by the repukes brings out the populist in them?
Good for your sister. :hi:

So is Mike Gravel... what of it?
I think Democrats are past that, 96% of Iowa is white and one third of their Dems went to a fucking high school gym and stood in the back corner for Obama. .

19. My sister and I talked about that tonight... |
|
She loved that whole debate and thought Hillary was great. I thought Hillary did okay and really let Edwards have it at one point, but my sister couldn't stop gushing about how great she did.
Given how republican leaning my sister gets it's shocking to me that she'd go dem. Her and I are both voting for Hillary. She's doing the whole bumper sticker thing and I wouldn't be surprised if she does some volunteering later in the year.
