They just keep getting stranger and stranger.

http://snipurl.com/1ws49

Some highlights:

"As someone who worked my adult life in a major chemical company, I can tell you that local, state and federal regulators make sure that the laws are followed diligently, or heavy fines and negative publicity follow. With few exceptions, pollution in big cities is caused by us, private citizens, and by regulated utilities, not the industries cited by Ms. Peters."

"Had as much progress been made to curtail pollution from the public sector as from heavy industry since the 1960s, air and water pollution would now be a fraction of current levels. Of course, it is more fun to bash corporations rather than give up transportation convenience, a well-manicured lawn, air conditioning, the hour-in-the-shower and other comforts.

Then again, corporations don’t vote ... ill-informed citizens do. "

1. Yeah, because private citizens ALWAYS dump toxic chemicals into rivers, etc.
:eyes:

Methinks Mr. Linsen may have worked around those chemicals for too long.

4. Well, it's partially true. Lawn chemicals, dumped by the ton in suburbs, do end up in the water
supply. How can anyone not accept that our cars and trucks pollute the air and cause that lovely smog? In some areas, wood burning for heat has caused major air problems. We are a part of the problem. However, there are still many heavy industry and corporate polluters as well.
