Taking a break from DU...my parting words |
|
I've learned that critcizing the GOP is like falling off a log...
...but arguing with fellow liberals and Dems about the smaller points is just plain EXAUSTING.
See you after NH.

3. In a few weeks, this crap will all be over. |
|
The trolls will be banned, the paid promoters will be out of a job, and this nonsense will be just a memory.

8. How, precisely, does one get to be a "paid promoter?" |
|
I'm genuinely curious.
Of course, maybe it pays if you're a promoter for one of the ones with the most money. Stumping for Edwards is purely a voluntary position.

The idea seems silly to me. But apparently they're out there.
"Stumping for Edwards is purely a voluntary position."
Do you think so?

12. I don't know if there are "Paid Promoters" around here. |
|
Frankly, B, do you really think we are WORTH paying trolls to spend money on spreading dissent here?
It's just more of the same cat herding, with Primary vitriol thrown in.

You'd think they'd contact and make offers to those who regularly appear on the Greatest page, wouldn't you? I mean, more bang for the buck?

19. I have a new measure of silliness. |
|
I say it out loud. Right out loud as if I were telling it to someone, usually while driving to or from work.
Stupid Stuff just SOUNDS stupid. Latest stupid stuff: "But there's a DIFFERENCE between a STATE lobbyist and a FEDERAL lobbyist..."
What? In how much they MAKE? A con man makes $2 million, while another one only makes $100,000: is he NOT still a CON MAN?
See what I mean? Stupid.

21. I do like my "New Measure of Stupid" |
|
Say it out loud to yourself, and it's GOT to be OUT LOUD because we all can make stupid stuff sound reasonable INSIDE the head:
"There are Paid Promoters of Candidates spending lots of valuable time running up post counts on Democratic Underground to undermine and sew discontent in this most VALUABLE of online Democratic Party Resources."
See? It just sounds STUPID.

23. I've decided in the late date of my life...if it SOUNDS stupid, it probably IS. |
|
It tends to save a lot of valuable time I can spend being a paid promoter!

17. not only is volunteering for Edwards purely voluntary..it cost alot of money to do it!! |
|
I know i worked in Iowa for Edwards..it cost me approx $5,000.00 to do so!!
Hotels tripled their prices ...air fare was hiked..it was eating out 2-3 meals a day..and rent a cars..all at the volunteers own cost!
Sorry but my hotel had hardly any Hillary grass roots people and hardly any Obama..but a ton of grass roots people came in for Edwards..on their own dime!!
oh and even the cheeper hotels were expensive!!

|
Personally, I'm expecting it to get worse.
I'm beginning to understand why so many of those here who survived the "DU Primary Wars of 2004" say so with such pride.
To think, I few weeks ago I was saying it wasn't as bad as I expected. Teach me to open my mouth.
