How DARE Obama be so popular!!! |
|
The nerve of that guy, to have such loyal and enthusiastic supporters! It's like he's running for Jesus or something!
And now he's going to carry another state primary--who the hell does he think he is, the POPE? His surprise win in Iowa got him on the cover of Newsweek--like he's the King of England or something! I tell you, all this energy and so-called "popularity"--it just makes me want to heave!!
You know who else excited people? Mao Zedong, that's who! Check out old pictures of large masses of people, calling his name, clapping and cheering and holding banners--remind you of anyone, hmm? Of someone named Barack Obama? Because no Democratic politician, certainly not a tall, grey-haired gentleman from the South, ever got his followers as wound up and excited in a manner similar to the way Obama currently has! Not in very recent memory!
Ask any Obama supporter on this site--they'll tell you how "great" their candidate is, and what a "difference" he'll make for this country. IS THAT SCARY OR WHAT?! It's frightening! It's downright zombie-like! Next thing you know, they'll want to make him President of the Galaxy or some such!
I swear, if I see another video clip or hear another speech of people going crazy for Obama, I for one will never vote for him. Why? Because Obama-heads are excited about the democratic process, about the promise of strong leadership, about a intelligent, well-spoken man who will really make a difference in Washington...
...and last time I checked, that's not what our party is all about.

I've just made Obama my choice in my primary and I'm quite proud of it. But dare I say that anywhere for fear of being labeled a "corporatist" or "Hillary-lite".

2. He's popular with Indies and Repugs - but should we let them pick our nominee? |
|
I'd rather have a nominee picked by Democrats.

We need the Indies. I could do without the Republicans.
To discount the independent vote is folly because it's going to take that to win. I honestly don't think Republicans are rushing to vote for Obama just to make him the nominee. They've got their own demons to fight in their own primary that I don't think they are going to skip that just to throw a vote to a popular Democratic candidate who is doing just fine without their shenanigans.

9. Y'know, it's only kids who think popularity is the most important thing. |
|
When you grow up, it doesn't mean nearly as much, unless you're shallow to the bone.

13. Um...popularity equals winning an election in our democratic system. |
|
No, It may not always be a necessary factor in real life, but it's kind of integral to how we choose our elected officials.
Now are you going to tell me that no person who ever won an election is deserving of it?
BTW, I will ignore the palpable condescension.

10. I have no issue with folks talking about how great their candidate is |
|
The problem comes when people from each camp post nasty, vicious shit about the others. It has grown extremely irritating and does nothing except help the RW machine.

12. I like all of our candidates |
|
and would vote for any one of them in the General Election.
However I find this outrage against Obama almost laughable. One of our candidates is kicking ass big time and all some people can do is trash him. How dare he do so well? How dare he attact new voters? How dare he appeal to independents? How dare he draw big crowds?
We shall see what happens after super Tuesday.
