I've given up on any sort of investigation or impeachment hearings...
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 11:20 AM by Javaman
the US is now focused on the bright shiny object known as primaries. I knew this was going to happen and I knew that the various failed reps were stringing out the "hearings" and "subpoenas" and "various slaps on the wrists" because they knew full well that as soon as the "political season" started all that really matters, you know like the Constitution, will fall gleefully by the wayside.

So just as little as 4 months ago, everyone on here had their panties in a bunch over impeachment, but now, there are only the last few squeaky wheels trying to keep our focus, but alas, the majority on DU are now so totally obsessed with the primaries.

yeah yeah, primaries are important...whatever, but the piece of paper that makes everything possible, that governs our nations laws and rights is still being treated like a dish rag.

So while we all get all puffed up and pissed off about who won what and what really happened when and in what county to what votes, just think that there is still a criminal in the white house who is going to get away scott free and there is nothing, not one thing that any of us can do about it because the system is gamed to allow "presidents*" to get away high crimes.

Since I live in Texas and the primary here is on March 4th (the old inauguration day and my Mom's birthday), the "race" for the prez will be pretty much decided for us.

So while everyone else runs around yelling Hillary, Obama, Edwards, etc, this and that, I will watch while moron* sneaks even more crap past our radars while we pay attention to the nice shiny object.

1. Most of us gave up a long time ago. We've taken measure of
the leader of the House and we know she's worthless. She's up to her neck in all this so she's gonna cover her ass before thinking about what would be best for this country.

12. So, by accepting that the means of implementing the Constitution is broken...
...and deciding to give up on it rather than fix it, it sure looks to me like you're giving up on the Constitution.

I want you to understand that I'm not flaming you. I'm just trying to give you another perspective.

NGU.

13. Well, perhaps I put that wrong...
what I should have said is (not the system) but the people (senators and reps) that are suppose to implement it.

Until there is a real change of the guard, I fear nothing will change.

have been voted on in September, and then October, and then November, and then December?????

6. My only consolation is that history has a way
of catching up with evildoers. Call it history, justice, karma or whatever, I believe no one can so abuse their power without there being an accounting in the end. No, there won't be an impeachment but there will be a reckoning, and the Democrats won't do it and the repubs surely won't do it and even the American people won't do it, but it will be done.

8. Thanks for adding this link. :)
Like I said, there are still a few squeaky wheels here on DU that keep the discussion alive. :)

From my file on holier than thou, LOL, I actually write hand written letters to the reps. :)

But yes, I have signed the Wexler petition.

11. Have you done this. You might be the million signature rainmaker. E-MAIL this:
Contact just a few friends to IMPEACH Cheney TODAY!

Now past 180,000, the Impeachment Train is approaching the 200,000 station. The BIG STOP is ONE MILLION!!
http://www.wexlerwantshearings.com

HELP that climb exponentially. CONTACT your friends TODAY!
If each person contacts SEVEN people, and they contact seven ....
seven degrees adds up fast 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 = 823,543

1, 7,
7 x 7 = 49,
49 x 7 = 343
343 x 7 = 2,401,
2,401 x 7 = 16,807
16,807 x 7 = 117,649
117,649 x 7 = 823,543
sum = 960,800

Okay, I was over-reaching, but this clearly illustrates the Power of the People.
A simple action like contacting seven other people .... really adds up if repeated.

Petition at http://www.wexlerwantshearings.com

===============
PASTEBOARD: Use this to e-mail your friends

175,000 People Sign Petition for Impeach Cheney Hearings so far!

ONLINE PETITION:
The charges are too serious to ignore. There is credible evidence
that the Vice President abused the power of his office, and not only
brought us into an unnecessary war but violated the civil liberties
and privacy of American citizens. It is the constitutional duty of
Congress to hold impeachment hearings.

----------
I'm asking seven friends I know will agree to sign the online petition.
I'm also asking each of you to do the same, to pass this on to seven or more.
After seven steps, our circle could add nearly 1,000,000 signatures.
The magical seventh power of seven: 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 = 823,543

PLEASE pass this on to seven friends and help add signatures.
