In Michigan, Dems don't exist. Local TV has reporters on every candidate in the state. |
|
McCain, Romney and Huckabee are all over my local news. When it's time for an ad break, it's those same sonofabitches.
Back to the local news. An anchor is doing a sitdown interview with McCain. When over, it's more GOP ads. Then it's time to show the latest in the polls, Repugs only.
No Dems. Not in the news. Not in the ads. Not in the polls. Not a word. Not anywhere.
I haven't been this pissed since election day of '04.

the only choices on the Democratic ballot are "Hillary Clinton" and "uncommitted" and because Michigan doesn't have any Democratic delegated anyway at this point because they broke the rules and moved their primary up.
This is part of the reason, in addition to trying to keep the Republican infighting going, that dailyKos recommends that Democrats in Michigan cross over and vote for Romney.

4. The 'choices' are Clinton, Dodd, Gravel, Kucinich, and uncommitted. |
|
They're only 'choices' since the DNC says it'll REFUSE to seat delegates from Michigan.
The Democratic Party has said "fuck you" to the voters of Michigan.
:grr: :grr:
Oh ... and Kos can go fuck himself. I'd have another stroke if I voted for Romney. (Don't try to tutor me in the specious 'gamesmanship' of being a TOOL for people who don't RESPECT my vote.)

And not the state party wantonly breaking the rules to create a confrontation they knew they'd lose?

of Michigan and Florida by acting like lawless republicans and moving their primaries forward.
In Florida's case, purging, caging and intimidation was not effective enough.
I now have a first hand understanding of the above tactics, and I am not a happy camper. This happened as I enter my seventh decade. I can understand minorities who have had to put up with this all their lives.

28. Thats not exactly true |
|
By voting uncommitted you will elect delegates who have the option to cast a vote for anyone at the Democratic National Convention. Michigan rules permit local party conventions to select these delegates, allowing the Obama, Edwards and Richardson campaigns to organize their supporters to elect delegates who would support them at the national convention. http://www.michigandaily.com/home/index.cfm?event=displayArticlePrinterFriendly&uStory_id=e1eeeea7-c454-4054-94da-febaea8a231e

It was primary shenanigans trying to knock Iowa out and move two states, where Hillary was doing well, up to the front. Also a direct attack on Howard Dean. It isn't an accident that Hillary is the only one on the ballot, after she pretended to be against these maneuvers.

|
So I only have to hang up on half the candidates, not all.
I voted uncommitted. If that invalidates my ballot, so what? The alternative was Hillary? No thanks, not for the primary.
I just hope the folks in MI get over this dis by November, so the state doesn't go "red" this time around. It was "blue" in 04, but not by a wide margin.

Dem voters in favor of Obama or Edwards are being asked to vote "Uncommitted."
Imagine the republican attack ad: (sinister voice) Dem voters selected their candidate in the primary. (picture of Obama, assuming he wins). Uncommitted to Michigan.
It's coming.

The rules and punishments was agreed on months earlier and i believe that the DNC did what it could to try and convince the state dems to change their minds.
the state dems refused to budge during the time they were given to do so thus the punishment automatically went into effect

The Democrats had NO PLANS to come to Michigan regardless of our primary date. Our real crime was to expose how weak the major candidates are on jobs and labor (yes, this includes Mr. free-trade w/ China, John Edwards.)
