3. I wonder how long
a recession lasts before it's called a depression? Wikipedia reads that a prolonged recession is a depression, as I mentioned a few threads back, but no number of months (or years?) was mentioned.

2. Hello Radio Lady.
Doesn't look good does it? Our economy really doesn't have the usual underpinnings that can make it quick and with a soft landing.

4. Start Labeling it as the Republican Recession
Keep reminding people of what Republicans have been saying about our economy up till this point. Place the responsibility squarely on them.

5. Especially since they plan to dump it on the incoming Democrat.
We told them this would happen when they made those outrageous tax cuts. And they still don't believe us.

8. I Don't Think It's about Belief, Aquart
I think they know what they are doing. Remember what Grover Norquist said about "drowning the government in a bathtub like a baby"?

One way is to bankrupt it, then place in massive debt, hobbling it so that the market remains deregulated. Others were stupid and just went along with the spin because they benefited from this in the short turn.

14. Happy-go-lucky thinking about the world war that can follow a worldwide depression
as well as the worldwide outbreak of disease, famine, civil strife, and the breakdown of society. It's enough to make a Chimp jump for joy on his way to Paraguay.
