You know, Even if we impeached Cheney and he was actually
found guilty it would do no good.

He simply would ignore the whole thing and just go on like nothing had ever happened.

1. LOL no doubt. That seems to be the bush/cheney way and the
dems just keep letting them get away with it. It seems like there is only one party now-repulicratic.

2. I know. I just can't believe what I'm seeing on a daily b asis.
A whole adm. that is simply above the law.

That's not a democracy. I guess it would be a monarchy or what? Not a dictatorship because he really isn't the same as a dictator but what would you call this kind of government?

3. You would call it Deep Politics. Its amazing how many threads express outrage...
without understanding that our government is now TOTALLY corrupt.

That is what I am discussing in my thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x2747796

You call this government either a "kakistocracy" - rule by the worst; or a "kleptocracy" - a government of thieves.

5. I have that feeling now, too. Totally corrupt.
So who do you trust? No one!

I don't trust the medical profession or the drug companies. I think that if we actually knew the deaths and mistakes caused by our medical profession we would be scared shitless. And how can you trust taking any medication and not finding out 5 years down the line that it destroyed your liver, and the drug company knew about that side effect all along. Its terrifying.

I don't trust anything that comes out of this adm. If one of these guys says it I just figure its a lie and that probably the exact opposite is the truth.

I really don't trust anything to not be corrupt anymore. Not the police, not the court system, not anything. And that is amazing to me. It is also pretty painful.

4. People buy houses, can´t make the payments,
board up the windows and move on, hoping for better luck next time.

GWB and DC were born and raised in this country too.

When could they have learned differently?

6. Doomed? And when is crashes we all go with it. For years I've
been saying we're going to hell in a hand basket. Why should any of the politicians care? They've got theirs.

9. Yea, but I've been hearing that all of my life. And I'm old.
We will vote out all of these crooks and get back on track for a while. Then it will all go downhill again. It's the American Way.

11. Anarchy? That's probably not right either but it does seem to me
that more people than not have no control over what's going on.

8. We're Not Gonna...
...impeach anyone. Pelosi and Hoyer didn't want it and the primaries have already started. Once that happens, everything's frozen.

12. True, perhaps, but it's becoming more important to do it for the principle
If this congress allows a president and vice president to get away with the lies, war crimes, imperial refusal to comply with our constitutional system of checks and balances, warmongering for profit and other things, it sets a terrible precedent for the future. Sure, we might get a President Hillary or Edwards or Obama, and things will be OK for 4 years or 8, but sooner or later, the Repubs will get back in, and they'll pick up where they left off.

If the congress doesn't punish this behavior now, we will live in a full-blown dictatorship within 50 years. So this has implications that last much longer than the lifetimes of just Bush or Cheney.
