Major Candidate Says "We Have Already Lost" FISA vote; pledges to be there "if needed"
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 07:35 AM by Leopolds Ghost
Then I spoke with Hillary, and she said she has assured her colleagues she will go back to the Senate if they need her vote. She though that we have already lost, alluding to the Judiciary version of the bill which was voted down on Friday. I urged her to speak out publicly and she said she intends to say something on Sunday.

Note: It does not matter Hillary is the one saying this.

It would be equally troubling (and equally likely,
given how far to the right Elected Dems) if Obama
or another candidate had said it.

This is an either-or thing. Either Dems will abandon
Dodd en masse, or Reid's position will be politically
marginalized, and Clinton, Obama and the others will
exact political consequences for those that go against Dodd's
filibuster.

There is no middle ground.

1. It would be great if this was the event to weaken Reid and make
it possible to replace him with another.... Senator Dodd would be good for Majority Leader.

Support Senator Dodd in his filibuster!

2. For me, its not if their votes are "needed" or not, they are being paid a nice
salary to do their jobs, and ignoring votes because they are "applying" for a new job. Biden and Dodd were making it back for votes. Campaign away, but get your butts back to Washington to do your job.
