Specter of Congressional Insanity
By Dennis Behreandt
Published: 2008-02-14 22:29

ARTICLE SYNOPSIS:

Congress is investigating baseball and Senator Arlen Specter wants to go after the NFL. Shouldn't our legislators have something better to do?

Follow this link to the original source: Specter: Belichick was taping since 2000

...

At the beginning of the Patriots' nearly perfect season, the NFL revealed that the team's head coach, Bill Belichick, was cheating by taping defensive signals used by opposing teams. The league lowered the boom on the coach and fined him $500,000 dollars. It then fined the team another $250,000 and ordered the Patriots to give up a first round draft choice in 2008 if the team made the playoffs. The team did, so the Pats can wave goodbye to that pick. These actions, plus the permanent stain that will now mark both Belichick and the Patriots' otherwise nearly perfect season would seem to be punishment enough. And, though there was some grumbling, the NFL and America moved on. There were more important things to worry about, like the ongoing war on terror, the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Sibel Edmonds' serious allegations of high level nuclear espionage, the approaching financial catastrophe, and so on and so on.

Our increasingly irrelevant and impotent legislators in Washington, however, can't seem to move on like the rest of us. Unable or unwilling to grapple with the difficulties presented by the Bush administration's two-term effort to arrogate to the executive branch the legislative powers that, under the Constitution, rightly belong in Congress, legislators have turned instead to throwing their dwindling weight around in matters of little consequence and in which they have no legitimate interest or authority. The NFL's so-called "Spy Gate" scandal is a case in point. Instead of worrying about whether or not any rights are still protected by, say, the Fourth Amendment, Senator Arlen Specter is worried about Football rights. "We have a right to have honest football games," he said according to the Associated Press

2. And now, understanding the issues...
don't you just want to rip some one's head off?
I know I have to stop myself from
thinking about it sometimes because otherwise,
I will explode!
It's UN-fucking-believable that the story
is not on the news 24/7.

Fucking Congress is useless.

6. I still wonder why Joe Wilson endorsed Hillary...
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 07:03 PM by calipendence
... Could it have anything to do with:

1) Marc Grossman was actually hired by Bill Clinton and not Bush.
2) Rumors earlier that Grossman might have been a friend of Wilson's during Clinton's term and perhaps in their college days too.
3) Bill Clinton didn't do much to contend with Hastert's "fake" reason for taking down the genocide bill in the House, which was attributed to being a letter from himself.
4) Sibel has Hillary on her Dirty Dozen list.
5) The Wilsons appear to be still go along with the contention that the outing of Valerie was more political revenge than actually finding a way of "outing" Brewster Jennings itself.

I still think there might be some further pieces of the puzzle that need to come out.

8. I'm not willing to slam Wilson just yet, but I still wonder if something's being "protected"...
... and if that something is something we should know about or not!

10. I noticed that Hillary is polling much higher than Obama in New Mexico....

this may just be a coincidence but isn't one of the Iran-Contra drug distribution airports connected to Mena airport located in New Mexico, possibly near Taos? Remember this is just a coincidence, nothing to see here...move along...

11. Again, not sure how it might be related, but there were moles in Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory...
Edited on Thu Feb-14-08 07:34 PM by calipendence
... in New Mexico, according to Sibel's allegations, that were perhaps a source of the leaks of info she was speaking of too. I'm guessing that these student moles were friends of this "official", who I think has been identified as Grossman. Perhaps they know Wilson (and Clinton) as well? A LOT of speculation here. And I can't see how that would affect the popular vote there in Clinton's favor.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article3137695.ece

...

The Turks and Israelis had planted “moles” in military and academic institutions which handled nuclear technology. Edmonds says there were several transactions of nuclear material every month, with the Pakistanis being among the eventual buyers. “The network appeared to be obtaining information from every nuclear agency in the United States,” she said.

They were helped, she says, by the high-ranking State Department official who provided some of their moles – mainly PhD students – with security clearance to work in sensitive nuclear research facilities. These included the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico, which is responsible for the security of the US nuclear deterrent.

In one conversation Edmonds heard the official arranging to pick up a $15,000 cash bribe. The package was to be dropped off at an agreed location by someone in the Turkish diplomatic community who was working for the network.

14. Also found this, for context...
http://www.cloakanddagger.de/media/S_284_S/MARC%20RICH.htm

Ferruzzi brought a suit seeking injunction against the Chicago Board of Trade in Chicago's highly corrupt Federal District Court. The case was assigned to Chicago U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel, a close crony of former Illinois Governor Jim Thompson. <In November, 1994, on our one-hour public access Cable TV Program, we demonstrated how "Big Jim" as he is called and his circle are kingpins in the "China White" high purity heroin smuggling into Chicago through small suburban airports. In later years, through interviews, we found out that Zagel through "Big Jim" is reportedly tied to Marc Rich. Big Jim has been Chairman of the worldwide lawfirm, headquartered in Chicago, Winston & Strawn. According to our TV Show, they have an inner secret unit, not actually in the "law business", transacting smuggling in contraband such as dope. This, through Switzerland, home-base of Marc Rich.>

4. I admit that, after watching it...
and seeing the implications of the issue, I am amzed that more is not being made of this...especially considering the support she has from long-term, highly respected analysts. This case has often appeared as something in which Sibel, alone, was speaking out about...but many of her colleagues are right there with her.

BTW, does anyone know where we can see the longer version? The 52 minute version, the one here and most other download links is the short version. I'm wondering if Zadig is waiting to get a U.S. distribution deal before he allows the longer one to "get out"?
