Another 'humane', 'less than lethal' weapon on its way to a cop and TSA agent near you
http://wjz.com/specialreports/flashlight.led.incapacitator.2.657839.html

The Incapacitator

It works by emitting rapidly changing pulses of light at several specific frequencies and in certain specific colors. It changes the pattern faster than your brain can comprehend, thereby causing your to go on overload. At this point, you will look away and close your eyes involuntarily. And that moment of inattention is when the cop or TSA agent can get you.

Of course, like other weapons before it (tasers, pepper spray, rubber bullets, etc.) this is supposed to be non lethal.

In the reporting (watch the clip) the TSA guy who was pushing this said how effective it would be against 'terrorists' and then tripped over himself to let us know it was also useful against ordinary bad guys.

I gotta ask ... how many of us know bad guys? Probably more than a few of us. But how many of us know a terrorist? Anybody? Beuhler? Beuhler?

3. I wonder how it might affect an epileptic
And remember .... all the other less than lethal weaponry was supposed to be humane ..... and all of it has led to deaths.

4. Ooo, I wonder how many people will have epileptic seizures as a result.
I also wonder if this isn't something that is easily countered by sunglasses or lens that remove one or more parts of the color spectrum.

5. Someone is going to have a seizure and die.
Ever seen the disclaimer on movies and video games, something to the effect of "This product may contain rapidly flashing lights that can cause seizures".

9. Actually that was a reference to a Star Trek episode
where only Spock can look at this "thing" wearing special goggles. I figured a trekkie or two might get it!! :P
