McCain's lobbyist eruption and where i hope the story goes-one womans wish. |
|
Ok i hope the right wing radio gas bags keep harrumphing! Just keep blasting away and then i hope that since tomorrow is Newsdump Friday lots more info comes out--and none of it good for McCain.
Democrats-keep your powder dry, say nothing and if you're pressed for some sort of statement just say something like this "Well i don't know the details so i don't want to comment except to say(and lay it on thick right here) Gee i really hope it's not true.
Now since the Times broke the story other newspapers must be working on it as well and thats what will either keep this story going or maybe kill it, lets hope the find more.

1. I think it will have legs. McCain is full of hubris and has not lived his life carefully. |
|
There's probably more. Let the RW rally to his defense, rather than dropping him and going with Romney or Huck. He's going to be hobbled by this, eventually.

2. Be careful what we wish for. Getting rid of McCain may make way for a more |
|
formidable Republican candidate in the GE. The RW has satisfied their wet dream of getting rid of the Hillary Clinton threat by supporting as much as possible the Obama candidacy. Now that Hillary is out of the way and maybe McCain, they will be coming together to push a candidate that can bring the GOP together along with the Hillary haters and eventually the Dem bigots who will never vote for Obama. The media will help them in this. I really don't want them to damage McCain to the point where the Republicans will unite around another candidate.

7. McCain WAS their most formidable candidate |
|
The others were caricatures, one issue bible-thumpers, morons and idiots. Though that hasn't stopped them before.
What it does, I think, is make an opening for Bloomberg to come in as an independant and grab at least the fiscal conservatives vote, plus some mis-guided moderates, and make a go of it.
I don't agree that Hillary is "out of it" yet, but hey, the Repubs could just offer her their nomination if they have to.
Hopefully, John McCain's dick will be the last nail in the Republican coffin.

10. This story helps McCain more then you would imagine. |
|
Its being framed as a smear because its a complete non-story. Every news outlet is talking about NYT and NOT mcCain.
They are talking about timing and sources, and not about this possible affair.
The base that didnt like McCain is now rallying behind him (i.e. Rush, and all the other RW talk show hosts that hated him).
Unless the story has more to come, its dead by Friday and McCain walks away a victim with more republican support.
Bank on it.

15. Nope. His presser was awful and the NYT story brings up the sleeping elephant--the Keating 5 |

scandal. He's going to lose his famous uncontrollable temper at some point and that will destroy his chances.
It's the bank, not the boink. Stick a fork in him.
