Republicans chestbang about being the moral party, but they don't give a damn
about old people. Today a Republican said to me that anyone who doesn't save for retirement, deserves to die of hunger. Why are they like this? Are they sociopaths? Are they born this way? Or do they LEARN to be this way? If anyone has answers, please provide them because I'm puke-sick of them.

1. Are they still doing that ?
I think you are recalling the past ... because there is no doubt that they lost their 'moral' way long ago ....

I dont think they even pretend anymore .... They have replaced that breastbeating with hand wringing fear ....

They dream of a day when they can pretend again, but it isnt going to happen soon ....

4. Oh YES! Ordinary run-in-the-mill Repukes still try to say they're the moral party
Which makes me crazy because I feel like giving them a good ass-whooping.

8. Yes! A Repuke at work asked me why on earth I was a Democrat, so I e-mailed this person....
a list of Republican sexual deviants. This person's response? Well, isn't there an equivalent list for Democrats?

11. There are not many ...
And Democrats dont rattle on about how morally superior they are, other than trying to make kids and their parents are able to survive in a harsh world ...

I would also point out that the bunch of them blindly followed a madman, full of bluster and lies, into a war of aggression without justification, all without batting an eye .... Their judgment about what is 'moral' is highly suspect ...

2. That attitude allows them to feel superior to other people.
It also relieves them of any obligation to feel responsible for doing something about the misfortunes of others. They don't have to feel bad about being selfish, because if someone is poor it must have been his fault.

Of course, if some misfortune befalls one of these self-righteous assholes, it's always someone else's fault...

7. I actually saw one of those self-righteous assholes (a rich one) drop to the depths of poverty....
...The husband got terribly ill, and I saw them lose their business, lose their home, lose their furniture, their car, and end up living in a run-down trailer, living on food stamps and asking my sister for food because the food stamps were "not enough." This, years after having said that they didn't understand why the poor were too lazy to get out and find a job rather than live off food stamps.

3. It's because they believe in myths (religion)
and subscribe to all the patriarchal, inhumane, illogical, tenets that they espouse.

Until this country breaks free of these myths and the shackles incorporated within them, real progress will never happen.

9. I don't see that happening anytime soon because this country has no neighborhoods, and families are
broken apart and dispersed into various suburbian hells throughout the country, so there's no one to rely on except one place: CHURCH. That's the reason people get involved in church. If they didn't, they'd have nobody.

6. I guess
I guess inability to have empathy or to realize bad things happens to good people. It is drilled into people's heads with the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, Boortz, etc. that poor people are just lazy and don't want to work. If you keep saying something over and over people will believe it.

After all, someone told me last night that Obama was muslim and his middle name was "Mohammad." I laughed.
