The anti-smoking zealots have gone too far.
Now they're demanding that people not be allowed to smoke in confined spaces filled with high explosives.

:wtf:

If your job involves handling high explosives in a confined space then shouldn't you be able to enjoy a nice relaxing cigarette?

What the hell is wrong with people?

my hospital room had ashtrays, and I was allowed to smoke in bed. My, my, how things have changed.

But I'm not in a gun turret either. And my toenails are not nearly as pretty of the flip-flop wearer.

Well, I'm not sure how much attention people would be paying to the attractiveness of your toe nails.

9. Unintended consequences of smoking bans...
In some countries, they are heating the sidewalks for the benefit of smokers who must smoke outside. Big energy costs.

10. Here in maryland we use to have one of the only two fire works manufacturing plants in the country.
Even though the possession of fireworks is illegal here in Maryland. But that another rant. They didn't prohibit smoking. A cigarette is not the problem. They did prohibit matches, lighters, and any other open flame or heat source. But a cigarette alone is not a problem. The huge mounds of gun powder do not ignite or explode upon contact with tobacco. A no smoking sign does not sufficiently warn of the actual danger from any open flame or heat source. Hey look the sign says no smoking. We can sit here next to this pile of gun powder and flick matches all day. Just as long as none of those matches land on a cigarette and lights it. We'll be fine. Yes a lawyer will argue the semantics of the sign in a million dollar wrongful death suite.

19. According to spellcheck, spellcheck is misspelled. So why should I trust it?
It's Suit. I don't know why I put the e on the back of it. I only do that when I type it. It's one my typing peculiarities. Like teh instead of the. I do that a lot too.

So I'm a zealot because I am asthmatic and can't tolerate smoking huh. And I've watched loved ones die because they either smoked or secondhand smoked. Yeah, I guess I'm a big loony.

25. Its an old WWII battle wagon. Look at the teak decks.
As far as I know they are all museums now. Last time I seen one we were puling out of San Diego harbor and they were coming in, sometime around '89. They are big but completely unsuitable for todays type of warfare. I think it was one of Ronnie Rayguns ideas to bring them out of mothball.

They don't fire the guns but the tour's worth it if you're ever in the area.

I spent an hour on it and my legs were tired from climbing up and down the ladders between decks. I can't imagine what it was like to actually live on the damn thing.

30. Bad law
Anyone who would consider smoking in a confined space that houses high explosives probably should just be allowed to do so. We don't need these people cluttering up the gene pool.
