Democratic Sweep In Nov Vs Republican Lobbyists... |
|
Has anyone wondered the various scenarios of what our future holds with a Democratic Majority vs a Republican Lobby? All these Republicans quitting to become lobbyists?
Scenario#1 In a Negative
The Dems getting caught up in scandal after scandal because they were set up by the lobbyists. If Politics make strange bedfellows, can the Dems be bought off like the Republican were?
Scenario #2 To the Positive The Dems enter Congress and pass sweeping legislation on how it conducts business with Lobbyists. Thus restricting the power lobbyists have in Washington.
Both of these something to consider and food for thought...As it always seems like the Republicans always have an angle in everything they do.

If the Democrats win big in both Houses, what I think they will do is force these lobbyists out into the open more. No more meeting with Congresspeople behind closed doors, no more meeting off of the Capitol grounds, and so on.
It might be just a fix, rather than a solution to the power that lobbyists have, but I'll take what we can get.

3. They won't do it unless we force the issue. |

In the past, Democratic voters were relieved to win and then believed everything was going to be okay. But the Republican rich have patience. They just wait until we are not longer looking and begin working away. Unfortunately our Democratic congressmen have too often shown themselves vulnerable to lobby voices. That's why lobbyists get paid - they are good at being evil. We will have to keep caring after the election. We will have to hold our president accountable and contact the congress members constantly. They must fear a lack of voters more than a lack of campaign money.

4. Peloisi set the tone in '06 when she demanded she get the biggest and fanciest office in Washington |
|
She made a statement with that demand that she was about power and herself and could care less about America and the american people. She has stayed true to that first impression..
