9. I think I bought my first $40 tank yesterday. |
|
And that was shocking. I know somebody who pays $100 a week thanks to the diesel they have to drive. He is a tile guy, he needs the power to lug the tile and equipment between sites, and the towns are spread apart. So he's hating life.
I know another guy who has to turn down an internship with a major financial company because it doesn't pay enough for him to make the commute. It's the foot in the door he needs, but he would be losing money every day. He can work a crappy job in town here and be able to eat. Or he can take the amazing internship, and start selling blood or something to afford food since 100% of his pay would be used up in gas due to the commute. And that all assumes that he lives in his truck, and doesn't try to get a place to live in the other town for 2 months.
Pain in the butt!

Gas is doing over 1.50 euros per litre. Diesel goes for 1.28.
(for gallons, multiply by 3.8...)

14. $3.90 In Suburban Chicago |
|
I'm sure there are stations in the city now over $4. There's a station right across the county line that was at 3.59...but that included getting a car wash. I saw people asking about getting the wash to get the discount and then told the wash was "broken". Oh bloody hell...

And man, I wish the Kroger's around here had fuel pumps. You get fuel savings with purchases, but I think you'll have to drive 100 miles out of your way around here to find a store that sells gas. At least I've never seen one.
