Police: Man Steals Suburban, Then Reports It Stolen

(April 29, 2008)--A 19-year-old Fort Hood soldier was in custody Tuesday after a man called to police to report the theft of Chevrolet Suburban that turned out to have already been stolen from a local car dealership.

Earnest Darrelle Rice, Jr. is charged with theft over $1,500 but under $20,000, failure to identify and false report.

He was transferred Tuesday to the Bell County Jail.

Bonds total $58,000.
