Remember the flak over John & Teresa Kerry's homes?
Take a look at where the McCains live.

Here's just one:

PHOENIX CONDOS -- 2211 CAMELBACK CONDOS
What: The McCains' main residence, this 6,500-square-foot, glass-walled condo with three terraces is in a recently built high-rise called 2211 Camelback. Plus a 2,000-square-foot unit on a lower floor.

Amenities: The 90-unit development has a rooftop pool and a concierge who offers "pet services," makes travel arrangements and books spa treatments. There's also valet parking and a gym.

Purchase Price and Dates: High-floor apartment, $4.67 million in October 2006; lower-floor unit, $830,000 in August 2007.

From Their House to the White House

(snip)

The McCain family owns at least seven properties, including a spread in rural Arizona. In the past four years the Republican's wealthy wife, Cindy, has spent roughly $11 million on real estate, buying three condos in Phoenix and two in California, across the bay from San Diego.

(snip)

The McCain homes all are owned by Mrs. McCain, heir to a beer-distributor fortune, or by trusts for her benefit. The McCains bought luxury properties in the 1980s and '90s and have seen dramatic gains from the real-estate boom. In 2006, the family sold their longtime Phoenix house for $3.2 million, nearly 29 times what it cost 20 years earlier, when Mrs. McCain bought it from her father. Their Arizona getaway is along a creek -- rare in the desert -- and is worth $4 million, nearly four times what it cost to assemble the three parcels in the 1990s. "They've made very wise real-estate investments," says Gregory Hague of Hague Partners, an Arizona Realtor that wasn't involved in the McCain purchases. With their multiple residences and seven children (three from Mr. McCain's first marriage), Mrs. McCain paid $273,000 for household help in 2007, according to their recently released tax returns.

1. No one can be faulted
for making wise real estate choices. However, to toss around money like this and then try to claim to be a man of the people is ridiculous. And, don't even get me started about how everything is in her name...shady!!

2. Good thing he's not an elitist
Otherwise it might look bad to have valet parking at one of his eight residences.

5. Let this longtime Phoenician tell you more about THIS particular residence--built by Fife Symington

Notice something odd in that picture? Like, a tremendously lush lawn and a huge fountain that recirculates precious little water? The lawns are quite large and watered not by reclaimed water (as many residential lawns in Phoenix are) but by a expansive SPRINKLER system--I repeat--this is NOT reclaimed water. Commercial car washes are required to recycle their own water and use reclaimed, treated sewer water--but golf courses and private residences, even if they are "multi-family" are not...

No joke--there is NO desert landscaping on that property anywhere and the underground parking is evaporative cooled (I've been there).

And yes--Governor Resigned in Disgrace Fife Symington OWNS the land it was built on and the Ms. Hensley bought it well before it was offered to the public (possibly before the land was zoned; the wealthy LONGTIME residents of that are were NOT happy about a high-rise in their backyards; it was a HUGE issue in Phoenix)--yet another example of the cozy relationship between Ms. Hensley, future ex-Senator McCain, and a DISGRACED LAND DEVELOPER/FINANCIER.

SHE's the consummate political opprotunist, DU, believe me, and she won't stop at anything to be First Lady--and neither will her ultra-wealthy friends.
