1. But if he's caught, who's going to issue all the statements from al-Kay-da that always conveniently

appear whenever * needs to ratchet up the scare level?

2. One caller said that Bin laden is in China
Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Last caller told them they can's kill him but they can dig him. He spoke about the David Frost interview with Benazir Bhutto. Great call.

4. Isn't it strange that we can't catch him. Maybe he works for us!
I wouldn't put it past bush to have set this whole thing up.

6. He should have been caught a long time ago
But let's get real. He's more of a theologist with a terrorist bent than the other way around. If Pakistan (or more accurately, the lawless tribes they don't control along the Afghan border) had been a little more co-operative, he would have been in custody a long time ago. And that, in a few words, would have been a mixed blessing, since there's nothing more than Islamic radicals want (and nothing less than we need) than another martyr to Allah, alive or dead.

Osama has cronys who are far more technologically and orgizationally savvy and hate the US (and the west) far more deeply than he does. Letting him cavort about his turf the way he has been the last 7 years bothers me (not too much; when was the last time he saw a flush toilet?), but seeing him in Guantanamo (or worse) is not my top priority. Breaking up al Qaeda, the organization? Yeah, do it. Spend untold amounts of money and time hunting him down in trackless wilderness just for the sake of saying "we got 'em!? Sorry, I have more important things on my mind.

8. I saw Michael Moore speak just about a week after 9/11
at Trinity Univ. in San Antonio (a lecture planned long before 9/11). He said "We won't catch Bin Laden". I remember thinking he was crazy, that eventually, of course, he would be caught or killed. How long did it take us to find Hussein literally hiding in a hole in the ground? Not too long.

I now see the reality. He wasn't caught because it would have ended the "war on terror" before it began, before we had a chance to invade Iraq and ensure that even if he IS caught, we'd have stirred up enough of a hornet's nest to be able to continue to fight the "war on terror".

They'll have to thaw him out before the November election.
