17. No. They've told us what they know. |
|
What remains now is discussing his options and whether he wants to stay in the Senate or spend his remaining good time (which he has, by the way, with his seizures controlled) with his family and friends.

I don't know, Warpy, these people aren't acting as if there is a medical course that will abate the situation. Maybe my ears are just negative today.

but I believe it was John Kerry who said he'd been talking with Ted and that treatment options were radiation and chemotherapy. (If I'm wrong about any of this, someone please correct me.)

whose names I won't show off knowing. They are rarely encapsulated, meaning they might be debulked, but can rarely be removed entirely without damaging a lot of brain structures. In Kennedy's case, the tumor is in his left parietal lobe, meaning the area of his brain that covers movement on his right side.
Radiation and chemo can shrink the tumor and buy him some good time. In addition, there are some interesting things in the pipeline that he would have access to at MGH, one of the country's main research centers.
It's a grim diagnosis, but he aint dead yet. With his seizures controlled, he's already got some good time left. He's having a bad hair day, though, after the biopsy.
Once the shock is over, we'll all be able to celebrate what he's done and the life he has left, which will probably be considerable.

he is an old man. When you are that age, losing friends might be a common part of life, but it is still acutely painful and probably scary. I think this sort of reaction would be normal for someone his age, regardless of the prognosis of his friend.
(somehow, I posted this under the wrong message).

This is obviously too much for him this year. I hope he does ok. Am I prejudiced or do dems just have more distinguished leaders, male and female than pugs.
