1. It's like drinking poison and expecting your enemy to die
It'll be interesting to see what happens.

3. Re you saying Obama will squash people's economic prospects?
:wtf:

Maybe you're trying to say something else. If not, your post is poorly worded.

7. A little.
So you're saying "Can people vote for a black man and still be voting in their own economic interests?"

The answer to that is yes.

Obama is not nearly as progressive as I'd like, but he's a damn sight better than McCain, and more or less the same as Clinton, so yes.

6. Yes, yes, and yes
Yes you can vote for your economic interests, regardless of the color of person in charge. Economics doesn't really come from the POTUS office. He sets an agenda for the legislative bodies, and they pursue passing bills to accomplish the economic goals they target during their tenure.

Yes, we will always have racist and haters and naysayers. The number of racist groups in our country have actually doubled since Dubya took office. http://www.splcenter.org/index.jsp

What better way to counteract this growing prejudice and outright injustice than to elect the person with the best fit to serve the broadest needs of this nation and take equality to a truer plateau here, where it is needed most. Demonstrate that ability, others learn and pass it along.

Yes, because millions and millions of people do agree with them. I look forward to electing a First Woman or a Native American, etc..as long as they have a depth of knowledge and honest mind. This party should work to restore the meaning of having a bona fide President that serves OUR country.
