Unfortunately, AIPAC and likeminded organizations long ago made their peace with crazy Christian preachers who support Israeli expansion because Armageddon needs a proper battleground, and this means they're unlikely to insist that McCain repudiate Hagee. Quite the contrary, in fact. They like Hagee.

"He has been the staunchest leader of our Christian evangelical movement in many areas, but especially, most especially, his close ties and advocacy for the freedom and independence of the state of Israel."


Pastor John Hagee, in his book "Jerusalem Countdown: A Warning to the World", writes (pages 92-92):

So, according to McCain supporter Hagee, anti-semitism is the fault of the Jews because of their "disobedience and rebellion to their covenantal responsibility". Anti-semitism is God's punishment on the Jews from being "bad". If they had "done the right thing" and had never left Israel/Palestine, there wouldn't be any anti-semitism.

So, according to McCain supporter Hagee, Hitler, Himmler and those death camp guards who operated Dachau, Auschwitz, Treblina, etc, were actually doing God's work - killing off those Jews who defied God by not living in Israel.
