will update

No link yet.

Rep. Sanchez says that since Rove has said he didn't discuss Seigelman with anyone in the WH this is an interesting development and makes no sense. Still can't find a link.

1. Does anyone know if "Executive Privilege"
covers anyone not employed by the administration?

4. FIrst of all it doesn't involve national security, Clinton V Jones was allowed to proceed
and that precedent has already been set

What comes around goes around

It is up to the Democrats in Congress to pursue this all the way to the Supreme Court, using the case of Clinton Verses Paula Jones if necessary

6. They used executive privilege as an excuse to keep Harriet Miers from being questioned.
She had already left the administration when subpoenaed.

2. Rove will be protected by Executive Privilege according to Bush, but who is it to blame
Edited on Wed May-21-08 09:34 PM by Jefferson23
that Bush is still in office?? Bush has destroyed our country and Speaker Pelosi couldn't care less.

I am always interested in the lawyers involved in these cases. Luskin is supposedly a Democrat, Harvard Law and Rhodes Scholar from Oxford University.

**In 1997, US Attorney Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island accused Luskin of "willful blindness" for accepting $505,125 in gold bars as well as Swiss Wire transfers of $169,000 from Stephen Saccoccia. Saccoccia is a convicted money-launderer who laundered money for several Columbian drug cartels. Luskin represented Saccoccia in the appellate phase of the case well after Saccoccia was convicted. Whitehouse argued that Saccoccia's payments to Luskin were related to Saccoccia's broad money-laundering scheme and that the money should be returned to the government. In 1998, Luskin settled with the government, forfeiting $245,000 in fees. <1>** This was sourced from wiki.

Luskin and Rove, quite a pair.

5. Rove Must Be Peeing In His Pants
No, not from fear. From laughing so hard.

First off, in your wildest dreams, can you imagine *this* Democratic Congress hauling his ass in? Second, Bush will pardon him anyway.

13. Karl Rove Claims Executive Privilege: Refuses To Testify About Siegelman Prosecution
Only in this Bush administration can one repeatedly state that they know absolutely nothing about a matter and then claim executive privilege as the reason for refusing to testify before Congress about said matter. But that is exactly what Karl Rove did today.

Thus, despite claiming no knowledge about the Siegelman prosecution, Rove is now admitting that he advised the President about it.

In any case, by exerting executive privilege Rove has now made former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman's claims that he was wrongfully prosecuted that much stronger. Why on earth would Bush have had any conversations about the Siegelman matter with Rove? This would seem improper on its face.

15. Arrest him for contempt
In point of fact, with the new "laws" that he implemented, they don't really need a reason to arrest him or detain him. Send him to federal prison and let him talk to his lawyer some time next year.
