It's disturbing how the Democrats have bought into the GWOT |
|
The Global War on Terror? Without a question about what it means? We will spend more than a $half-trillion dollars every year to fight this enemy that was conceived by the terrorist action of 9/11 but primarily created by the paranoid minds of the right-wing neocons. And the Democrats do not ask any questions? So, we are doomed to fight these poor, indigent, desperate "terrorists" until the day we die because of what they did on 9/11?
Osama bin Laden has already won the War on Terrorism. We are only going thru the motions of continuing a war that we have already lost. Our best bet is to try to pick up the pieces and make a better world. By our actions and decisions, we are creating more terrorists every day. Not only that, they are killing our soldiers and stealing all our money. We have lost. Give them the victory and lets go forward. They will not win again.
But, it goes to show that if you say something over and over, with no dissent from anyone, it becomes a national consensus. So it is with the "war on terror". An enemy that cannot be defined. An enemy that cannot be seen. An enemy that cannot be heard. But we know they are there. Ever few years, they generate a major "terrorist act" somewhere in the world and they are validated until the next big attack. In turn, our leaders create the Big Lie: We are winning the Global War On Terror.

1. "We are only going thru the motions of continuing a war that we have already lost." |

We have also lost the Iraq occupation and the Afghanistan occupation is on its last legs.
That makes us 0 for 3.

2. Hi kentuck! Once more, your post is right on... |
|
I've even been known to say "I'll never vote for someone who uses the words "war on terror" without saying "so-called" in front of it". Of course, this is an exageration, as I will vote for anyone other than Bush republicans...
I think the Bushistas and the media have subverted the language, making us used to absurd things as if they were normal. For example, when I hear someone on CNN saying : US troops killed 10 Al-Qaeda fighters. What's an Al-Qaeda fighter? Do they have uniforms? Name tags saying "Hello my name is Ahmed, Ask me about Al-Qaeda"? How do you tell them from Taliban, or Iraqi insurgents? Do they have Bin Laden buttons? There is no such thing as an "Al Qaeda fighter". Other terms such as "partial birth abortion", bla bla bla, my mind is of course blank right now :) . I'm sure DU'ers can come up with many of these language subversions...
But there is NO SUCH THING as the GLOBAL war on Terrorism. War feeds terrorism like a mother cat feeds her young! Terrorism thrives and grows through war. Terrorism is the army of those who have no army.

3. The neo-cons created Al Queda out of whole cloth. |
|
The military-information-security complex runs both sides of the "war on terror" which is really just a war of terror on the sheeple of the world by the power elite.
We still have no idea what the real story of the events of 9/11 is. It will be very surprising when the truth comes out, if ever (see 11/22/63).
