Question re: Harriet Miers and the contempt charge... |
|
Ok, so we all know that the House Judiciary Committee held Harriet Miers in contempt back in February. And based on federal statute, the case then goes to the DC circuit court (via the US attorney).
I just read an article that says some Republicans want to file a brief in the DC court regarding the case. Which seems to evidence that the case is moving forward.
How in the HELL did it get past the US attorney? Presumably there was much pressure from the Bush admin. to drop the case or refuse to file charges.
I can't find anything on this...HELP!

The Judiciary Committee voted to cite her for contempt in the summer of 2007 The full house voted to cite her for contempt last Febuary.
Mukasey isn't going to enforce it.

5. I'm sure it's sitting in someone's "In" basket |

Just like Tom Delay's indictment.
Or the investigation into the Anthrax murders.
Or Sybil Edmond's whistleblower case.
They'll get around to it.
