Mcclellan could have made just as much IF NOT MORE by toeing the party line. Just something to think about.

2. Ex- WH Press Secretaries can get pretty good jobs, no?
No doubt the book will sell, but his career as a PR guy is over.

5. Actually, I heard on one of the TV shows today that he has...
been unemployed since he left the WH. Seems like his loyalty should have been rewarded by now.

6. he got $100,00 for book advance.

http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2008/05/29/mcclellan_publisher/

"Lisa (Kaufman) laughed. While she wouldn't reveal the exact figure, she narrowed it enough to lay the money-grubbing charges to rest: It was a five-figure advance. Not just under $1 million, but under $100,000."

...

thats not much.

7. Right you are!

And he would have been in BushCo's good graces,
leading to a very secure future, monetarily.

Nah, he didn't take the " easy way" at all- far from it.

8. Scotty DID toe the line, and I think he was forced out

because he no longer had any credibility. He didn't land on a cushy GOP job as far as I can tell, so he probably needed the money. I think it's a combination of need (versus greed) and revenge. If he's sincere, he'll tell his story under oath where it can really count.

(On edit: His advance was less than 100 grand? I rest my case.)
