Regarding Bush not ceding the White House |
|
Is there anyone left who still believes that Bush/Cheney might not go away on Inauguration Day? This view was somewhat in vogue here a few years back, and I'll admit that I used to harbor doubts along those lines. The most subscribed-to theory seemed to be that Cheney et al would start some sort of massive military action somewhere and for reasons of executive continuity, etc, would not leave office at the appointed time. I no longer have such doubts. I'm sure he'd take over as dictator if he could manage to, but I see him as very weak, reviled by most everyone, and on his way out the door in search of right wing groups pathetic enough to throw some speech money his way. I think he'd be run out of town on a rail if he tried to stay, and I think he's aware of that.
So, is this theory officially dead now?
Off to run an errand, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

1. Even the GOP is running away from him. |
|
He would need the military to go with him too, and I don't think any Generals are going to go out on that limb.
I used to think this in the back of my mind as well, but it isn't a reality for him.

2. As far as I'm concerned... |
|
That theory never held water for me...
And I certainly don't give it any credence now.
It's dead as a doornail!

6. One of the theories is that BushCheney would declare martial law, and suspend elections. |
|
However, with the vast majority of the military and national guard overseas, I doubt that could even have enough militia people to make it work.
It would also get very little support from the majority of the country, and people would rise up against it. "King" George would find himself in a lot of trouble.

10. Maybe he can't suspend the elections |
|
But who's to say there won't be some sort of an "emergency" requiring martial law...oh, say, shortly before Obama's due to take office?
I hope I'm wrong, but I put nothing past these people.

When I think of Bush leaving the White House, I can't help but think of Steve Martin's character Navin Johnson in "The Jerk" as he is forced to leave the mansion he bought with his eyeglass invention after being sued and going bankrupt.

11. He's just a figurehead anyway. |

The question is; If the election is stolen, will anyone do anything about it?
Will there be large protests, giving bushco a chance to "quell" any "disturbances" with the 1st Infantry Brigade? The media will obediently report that "violent protesters" committed some criminal action. (Remember the reports of helicopters being shot at after Katrina? Didn't happen.) Or will everyone accept that the polls were wrong, America's not ready for a black president, the repubs managed a GOTV surge, and that 2+2 does indeed equal 5?

12. Only three days left! Gotta get that false flag operation underway! |
|
Martial Law Will be Declared! Blackwater! Boogeymen!
Seriously though, I have heard from a friend on the "inside" (I can't say who, but I can tell you that his initials are JL) that when voters show up at the polls on Tuesday, they'll be confronted by padlocked doors guarded by armed security, and the guards will be backed by US troops in tanks that have mysteriously appeared overnight. They will be told to return in 57.5 business hours. Remember, we've ALREADY deployed troops in the US, do it will be EASY! (remember Red Dawn? It was really a rethug propaganda movie aimed at getting US citizens used to the thought of men/women in fatigues walking the streets!) If those tactics don't work, * will still have a couple of months to negate the results of the election because of a false flag op that couldn't be implemented before the election. The Supreme Court will declare him President for Life for "national security" reasons. After that, the appearance of chemtrails over our most populated areas will increase five-fold in an effort to pacify anyone who thinks it's not a good idea.
We've got room for about sixty million in super-secret detention camps disguised as sports stadiums. Those stadiums have HUGE underground facilities underneath their playing fields. ANYONE who refuses to sign a loyalty oath will wind up in one. Even venues like Fenway were built that way, under the direct supervision of Darth Cheney. Remember Yankee Stadium? It was torn down because someone discovered the "secret door" that leads to the Babe Ruth Dungeon. How could we have been so blind?
And guns. Remember guns? Say goodbye to yours! * has already PERSONALLY trained over FIFTY MILLION foot soldiers, one for every home in the US. They will synchronize their watches on the morning of the day that will forever after be known as "Guntille Day", and all of them will knock on doors at the same time. Whoever opens the door will be tased instantly and those footsoldiers will then enter, search, and confiscate.
Only then can the eugenics begin. Gays will be targeted, as will those innocent citizens who might be either physically or mentally challenged.
It's time. It really is. Time for armed insurrection. Take up your arms! If you don't have a gun, HOLD UP YOUR ARMS, because you'll be one of the first to be whisked off to the stadium of your local sports franchise.
I'd sooner die than endure a lifetime of oppression at the hands of Darth Cheney, the REAL mastermind of this plan that was put into place during Teddy Roosevelt's presidency.

13. I don't think it'll happen |
|
At the same time though, anyone who doesn't know by now that Bush and Movement Conservatives in general are audacious, insane, and apt to do anything doesn't have the first clue. So if he does try to take squatter's rights in January, y'all can come back to this thread and look at my unsurprised face.
Someone oughta ask Chris Buckley about this. His first novel opened with Reagan in his jammies refusing to leave the White House while Poppy was trying to move in.

15. I doubt the GOP is that twisted |
|
Granted they are a twisted bunch of characters but a scenario whereby Bush and henchmen try to stay in power after a Obama win is just far fetched. No matter the excuse, it would be the end of American democracy. The GOP doesn't want to destroy the U.S. they just want to control it for their own demonic needs.
