He's not being asked to fill a policy position, but perhaps his experience will be useful. Obama is going to have to hire some people who have gotten their feet wet in the political quagmire. We just have to remember the big picture, this new President needs experienced people on staff that he may not agree with.

6. I remember being disappointed with him when he first ran |
|
I think that a good woman was running against him in the primaries, but he had the Clinton machine on his side and won.

7. Yes, and I heard that "they" want another black Senator like Jesse Jackson Jr. |
|
will will be unfortunate, in my opinion. We elected a great man, Barack Obama, who happened to be black. Who, as far as I know, has never made his skin color a part of his campaign, his hopes and his beliefs.

8. I don't know if you are aware, but Jesse Jackson does not equal Jesse Jackson Jr. |

Not by a long shot. Jesse Jackson Jr would make a fine senator.

9. I do realize they are different. And if appointed, I hope that it will be for his |
|
skills and passion and knowledge, not for the color of his skin.
I am not a constituent, either way, but it was Jackson Jr. who, during the primaries, was pressing members of the Black Congressional Caucus who were Super Delegates to pledge for Barack because he was black. And, yes, many did not like it.

tammy duckworth may have a shot...hopefully it won't be a favor repaid to some slimy political hack.
this appointment could turn out to be the high point of his administration's legacy.
