Have you asked any mourning Republicans why they hate America yet? |
|
I did on Saturday night. A guy I sit with at the hockey games was going on and on in a sad voice about how he doesn't know where this country is headed now and Obama will have the government socialize everyone's 401K.
He even said about the New York Rangers prospect who died in Russia "That's how the health care will be in our country in three years" when I said the emergency response over there is shaky.
Finally I just said "Why do you hate America?" in the same voice he did for the last several years. He just gave me a blank stare. Then he looked like he was going to tear up.

1. The Republicans I know have all been pretty sensible about the Election |
|
Most of the comments have been about how Obama sure seems to know what he's doing. I did get a "at least it's not Hillary" comment......

2. Most of the ones I've spoken with have expressed support for the new Administration. . . |
|
Everyone seems most interested in seeing the economy put right again. Even the admitted bigots expressed their belief that the only color that matters to them is green, and whether or not the new President can help put more of it in their pockets.
The only fool who tried to denigrate Obama and the Democrats is an over-80 year old man who muttered some inanities about race and welfare, the usual myopic maunders of an aged idiot. Unsurprisingly, the other Republicans in the group shut him down.
