3. Does this mean that theoretically, PROP8 could still be voted down? |

4. yes - allthough some of the outstanding counties are red so they would offset some gains. |
|

7. Boy, I dunno... hopeful, but... |
|
I can see that between San Diego, Orange, and Riverside counties, there are over 650,000 uncounted votes, and those are all pretty red counties according to my understanding.
L.A. county only has 410,000. Add in Humboldt, Marin, and San Francisco counties, and it's still just a little over 300,000.
It's hard to gauge how some of these counties, especially with these sorts of ballots (mail-in, provisional, etc.), would go, though.
We can hope, though! Never give up on that!

5. The places where most of the votes are left dont bode well for Opponents of Prop 8 |
|
in LA, there are estimated 410,000 votes, but Prop 8 was 50,50 there. In San Diego, where there are 225,000 votes left, Prop 8 was supported 54-46. In Riverside where there are 200,000 votes left, Prop 8 was supported 64-36. There are only 60,000 votes left to be counted in San Francisco
