Do we fight this Lieberman bullshit or not? |

It has been said to choose your battles wisely.
I'm not going to rehash why many of us feel it is crazy to keep this traitorous prick on the Dem payroll, but I am torn about whether to make a big deal of it if Joes stays and retains his Chairmanship.
President Elect Obama wants to move forward in a bi-partisan fashion and has said recently he holds no "grudge" against Lieberman. We have already heard he is OK leaving Joe just where he sits.
Well, I hold a grudge against Lieberman and no 59th or 60th vote is worth compromising our deep held values this much --- alas, I won't agree with Barack 100% of the time and ultimately, we have far bigger fish to fry than giving a fuck about Lieberman.
I suppose if Joe stays, my tendency is to reluctantly throw it into the small bin of disagreements I have with our new President Elect, and MOVE ON. This battle is just not worth fighting when so many things are far more pressing. I want to move into Obama's inauguration in good spirits and supporting the Change we worked so hard for the past two years.
Despite Lieberman, we have tons to celebrate with our new President Obama! :woohoo: :grouphug: :kick:

3. We can be upset with the decision, if that is the decision, while |
|
still remembering the big picture. There's a different mentality that goes with winning. We're so used to being the dogged opposition that we have to reprogram ourselves to deal with being in power. We can still speak up when something is wrong, but we do ought to remember that ultimately we are going to agree more often than disagree with this one, and anything that weakend support of him gives the other side a better chance to come back.
No free passes, but a little more leeway.

4. There is a legitimate reason besides the revenge thing for getting him off |
|
that committee and to be honest i don't care about revenge. It's the info that committee has and what it oversees is why Lieberman should not under and circumstances be allowed to remain on it never mind be the chairman.
Yes it is worth the fight.

7. Agreed - For The Same Reasons and also because of |
|
His penchant for fear-mongering and his recent promotion of anti-arab propaganda garbage films. This last fact alone should convince most that he has no business in "Homeland Security"

6. Keep your friends close... |
|
but keep Lieberman closer. Must be what they're thinking, at least this way they'll have something to hang over his head to make him an obedient lapdog.
Wonder what the Republicans have on him?

9. Evidently not - at least not yet. |
|
There is a lot to be done undoing the mess Bush is creating right now - he is leaving a "legacy" of presidential orders that may take effect after he is out of office, and tie Obama's hands in many areas. There aremembers of Obama's team finding these traps and trying to overcome them. I thought Bush was being very quiet, but he is finally working, fucking up the next president and the country as a whole.
