Fiscal Policy Institute: More Workers In Unions Needed To Rebuild Middle Class

http://www.laborradio.org/node/9895

By Doug Cunningham

: “We're never going to get to the point where we have a serious plan to rebuild the middle class unless more workers are allowed to join unions."

Dr. James Parrot of New York ‘s Fiscal Policy Institute says New York’s unemployment system isn’t adequate to help workers hit by this economic crisis. He says it needs reform.

: “So that it does a better job at covering workers who are unemployed, including part-time workers, low-wage workers."
