Auto Industry failure would be the trickle down economics in motion |
|
If the auto companies are allowed to fail it will be the ultimate trickle down economics.
When the top of the supply chain fails, the suppliers to the top will fail with them and like wise their suppliers will fail all the way down to the raw material supplier.
On the other side of the slope is the dealers and the communities where the factories for the auto companies suppliers and dealers all provide jobs.
And in the middle are all the people living off the community that feeds the auto workers and their suppliers.
What will be left? A large number of ghost towns. For example look at the steel industry and Youngstown Ohio where they are bulldozing entire city blocks to fight the blight.
This is the only trickle down that exists in economics, when the top of the chain fails. With out the workers, the economy ceases to exist.

The UAW will remember who was for us and who was against us and whatever resources we have left will be used to send them back to whence they came.

4. As a UAW member, my I ask you.... |
|
are you, and do you think your brothers and sisters are willing to give further concessions to help keep the industry afloat? Don't kick me, I'm not advocating it, I'm just asking a question.

I guess if given a choice between concession or jobs we may,but it's hard to make the budget on 4 or 5 bucks less an hour once you are use to a certain level of pay.I'd say it would be close with older workers saying no.younger workers may figure they'll make it up on the backend.

today I have to wonder if there's going to be anyone left to buy automobiles if the auto industry is given the loan? Just asking.
