Are we missing a real chance if we don't do this auto bailout |
|
Seems to me the government should say, "Yeah, we'll give you $25 billion, but here's the deal. You're going to stop all this gas guzzling war-inducing automobile manufacturing and make cars that consume a resonable amount of fuel... AND the OTHER HALF of your operation will be working toward electric cars and other clean energy transportation technologies."
Seems to me we can help reach the goal of energy independence, keep people working, and ease up on the environment.

1. Exactly. MUCH better than Ashton Kutcher's idea of having big oil bail 'em out. |

6. That's why the government should just get a controlling interest |
|
Calls of "Commie! Commie!" Will now be heard... but yeah, they need the bailout NOW, right? So, the government takes over until they can show us a plan.

8. Someone should be responsible, and if it's the govt., so be it |
|
Right now it's a free-for-all, with nobody taking responsibility.
Let them call "Commie" all they want.

7. It needs to go even beyond that. The companies need |
|
to be taken from the hands of the people who ruined them and given to the people who kept them afloat for so long. Every soft skinned, manicured, never done a days real work in their lives assholes need to be shown the fucking door. Give the company to someone who cares about it, it's products and it's employees.

9. I like to remind my Republican friends |
|
how they ridiculed Al Gore back in 2000 for wanting to eliminate the internal combustion engine. I ask them, don't you think now we would have been better off today if Al Gore had been elected? I haven't heard a logical argument against that statement yet.
