Terms you never want to hear again after January
I was listening to the news this morning and heard them refer to "food insecure" to mean that people are hungry and unable to feed their families enough nutrition to remain healthy.

Let's call an arm and arm, shall we?

They were referring to HUNGRY PEOPLE! Mothers, Fathers, and children who are HUNGRY or at the very least eating way too much cheap processed food to actually be meeting the nutritional requirements for their age groups.

After January, I want real words used again for things like this. I don't want to hear that people are food insecure. I want to hear about people that are hungry and what we as a country plan to do about it. Food insecure sounds like they have a phobia about their food (as in "I'm insecure about where this fruit was grown and how it was handled once it was picked"), not someone that is HUNGRY!

What terms do you want to see 86'd for more honest and too the point discussions after January?

16. I know
They made it sound like it was a bad thing not a remarkable thing.

We are so used to underperforming (know as misunderestimate for the last 8 years) that they don't know how to react when something is actually good anymore.

7. "I unnderstan'" or "The American people unnerstan'"
Especially when used as a substitute for "I don't wanna talk about that issue or make any substantive comments that would betray my breath-taking lack of comprehension where that issue is concerned, so I'll just mouth this meaningless phrase, secure in the knowledge that none of you sheep will dare to ask just what it is that I understand."

23. Are you sure the two are synonyms?
I suspect that "food insecure" actually covers not just people who are going hungry, but people who are not currently going hungry but are at risk of doing so in the future.

Usually, what sounds like meaningless technical jargon to the layman actually has a specific meaning behind it.

28. Yes, it means HUNGRY
The newscaster felt the term was ambiguous enough to define it each time he read the report. Even he knew the term was used to sugar coat the actual meaning.

The term was used by this administration in substitute for poverty and hunger studies done in the last few years. As with most things with this administration, they couldn't just say "hunger", they had to hide it behind some created title so that it could be made more palatable by the masses.

It's not a new term from this administration just not an honest term for any administration to use.
