With my tinfoil hat on I have to observe
that whoever decided to coordinate those attacks in India must have had a good idea that the day before Thanksgiving in the US is the perfect day for non-stop coverage because all the big hosts and most of the staff are on vacation.

The timing is simply too good to be true.
Where's Dick?

1. So you're saying the terrorists are trying to give the lesser known journalists their big break?!
How very altruistic...

3. No I mentioned the big boys to point out that this is the
slowest news period in the US. Only July 4th can compete with Thanksgiving for slow news periods.
The last great escape was that famous moment when Ken Lay low.

6. Or you can look in side the country for the timing
The motive is far from clear - but the attacks come amid elections in several Indian states, including in disputed Kashmir.

10. That's quite possible
One thing seems certain. This was not Al Qaeda.

The Jaipur attacks in May this year killed more people but received way less coverage. Of course two five star hotels used by Westerners were not attacked then.

12. Why are you certain it's not Al Qaeda?
Simultaneous attacks, on targets where they were more likely to find foreigners (and with the search for Americans and Britons) make Al Qaeda a distinct possibility.

14. This looks low level
As one of the experts said a few AKs, hand grenades, boats, no suicide bombers, no sophisticated bombs.
You're probably right - looks internal.

India is seeking to boost relations with Iran in all fields, including energy, the country's Ambassador to Iran Manbir Singh said.

India says it considers its own national interests and wants to develop relations with Iran without being intimidated by political pressure.

"Iran and India could develop relations not only in the field of energy but also in new industries, mineral products and banking activities," press tv quoted Indian Ambassador to Iran Manbir Singh as saying Sunday in a meeting at Tehran's chamber of commerce.

The minister stressed that India would not let outside political pressure distract the developing relations between the two countries.

Iran and India have recently approved several memorandums of understanding including the declaration of Bandar-e Shahid Rajaei and Jawaharlal Nehru port as sister cities and cooperating in agriculture and trade.
