Why the Left screwed-up big-time with the Brennan for DCI nom. |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-26-08 10:23 PM by formercia
If you had only let him get to the confirmation hearings before you started howling like a bunch of banshees and sharpening your pitchforks, we might have learned something about the torture and rendition activities.
So, now you will just have to wait and hope the truth will come out at a later date.
Some times, it's better to hold your tongues until the outrage has some facts to justify it.

4. I see the merit in your thinking. |

He voluntarily puts himself under oath.
You do some hard core discovery, resulting not only in him not being confirmed, but also in the possibility of getting at the kind of information that's needed to eventually prove war crimes in the highest offices.

7. All they have to do is hold some Congressional hearings and require |
|
his testimony. President Bush won't be around to stop him.

10. We have the information we need. They did it in plain sight |
|
and they left a ton of paper, too.
Evidence is not the problem. The Hill is the problem. They won't move because they're all implicated.

13. Every bit of evidence, every bit of testimony is important |
|
It has to be multiple sourced, double and triple referenced. These criminals are going to get the best legal eagles that money can buy. The case has to be iron-clad and bullet-proof.

14. That's true enough. And maybe I'm just being dense but, imho, |
|
the Bush Justice Department will never depose him and neither will anyone in a confirmation hearing. The Democrats would never do that to Obama's nominee and the Republicans won't do that to BushCo. Who does that leave? I can't see how it would work in practice.

15. Had Brennan resigned in protest to Bush's abuses, he would have been a hero |
|
As it is, he is just another bureaucrat that went along to get along.
