I think the cartoonist is saying that it's gonna be a long two months yet until 1/20/09. And what with Paulson looting everything in sight, that oat thresher looks appealing to me at times too.

I guess the cartoonist was going for the dark humor type of punchline.
The NGU/thankfulness in the 2nd paragraph of my post above were my own thoughts, and not my interpretation of the cartoon.
