Unlike the talking heads on cable tv, I do not answer every question that has a positive response with "Absolutely". My daughter is a journalist. I wonder what her articles would look like if she used that word all the time.

It's one of the most irritating vocal habits people pick up, in my opinion. "Absolutely" still means "yeah". I think people are frightened of not sounding vehement enough. Irritating. x(
