3. A character on last weeks show got fired by her republican boss
because he considered the reason she voted for McCain proved she was stupid. There was lots of legal debate about stupidity aimed at Palin.

17. The woman was a complete PUMA type
And while her boss was a complete Republican asshat himself, he was correct that she was stupid, because she justified a vote for Palin by saying "she's got spunk".

Now I don't agree that alone is cause to fire someone, but there's no question she was stupid.

19. I really laughed when the client yelled at Candace Bergen for not
objecting to the way her ex-boss's lawyer called her and idiot. Bergen says, "Well there were two reasons for that. First there were no grounds for objecting." "Yes, and what is the second reason?" "You ARE an idiot."

6. A woman was suing her boss cause he fired her.
She said it was due to her political beliefs...she LOVES Palin.

The boss said he fired her because she was stupid. He said she was stupid because she
had been a Hillary supporter and when Hillary lost the primary, she switched to McCain because she thought Palin was so great.
The boss said he did not want anybody working for him who was so stupid that they would switch from Hillary to Palin..and this was in spite of the fact that he was a McCain supporter.

He just thought that kind of switch was the stupidest thing ever.

I know that Bravo...I think...is showing repeats starting from the beginning of the series.
They have weekend marathons and it is on during the week as well...I think at 6 and 7PM

I am sure you can check this out at the website.

Edit: It is ION that has the rights to show the reruns.

12. NO KIDDING! I was cheering that they even brought this subject up!
I can't stand watching reality shows, dancing stars. I really believe it's true that it's foolish for the advertisers to be concentrating on the younger people because they're the ones who don't have the spendable cash or the time to watch TV!

4. Too Bad it's Over. I would have started watching!
They love belittling liberals, those tender hearts who were insulted (insulted, I tell you) and are swooning over being made fun of for voting for Palin.

Bullies. I just love it when the shoe's on the other foot. Talking about true colors. They can be ungracious in victory, but it's always up to us to be gracious to them when defeated.

Looks like the waaambulance is working hard tonight.

If you voted for McCain/Palin, after looking honestly at all they've done, then you are ignorant. Willfully so.

10. The irony is that none of those commenters got the concept of the show.
The boss did not call her ignorant for voting for McCain/Palin. He was, himself a repuke. His complaint was that
she had been a Hillary supporter, and switched to Palin..a person who stood for absolutely nothing that Hillary stood for. That was why he considered her stupid..not the choice she made, but the reasoning, or lack thereof, behind the choice.

20. WHY the hell do the networks keep taking all my favorite shows off?
West Wing every Wed! I used to watch something every night! Now I watch Boston Legal, the various Law & Order shows, and Desperate Housewives, and that's IT! I spend the rest of my time watching Countdown, Rachel, and Dr. G on Discovery Health.

You have no idea how many times I've said "we have 700+ channels on this damn thing and there's nothing I want to watch!"

23. LOL Bruce Springsteen wrote a song about that...

Oh, and you can watch Boston Legal (and a bunch of other shows) at www.fancast.com

57 Channels (And Nothin' On)

I bought a bourgeois house in the Hollywood hills
With a truckload of hundred thousand dollar bills
Man came by to hook up my cable TV
We settled in for the night my baby and me
We switched 'round and 'round 'til half-past dawn
There was fifty-seven channels and nothin' on

Well now home entertainment was my baby's wish
So I hopped into town for a satellite dish
I tied it to the top of my Japanese car
I came home and I pointed it out into the stars
A message came back from the great beyond
There's fifty-seven channels and nothin' on

Well we might'a made some friends with some billionaires
We might'a got all nice and friendly
If we'd made it upstairs
All I got was a note that said "Bye-bye John
Our love is fifty-seven channels and nothin' on"

So I bought a .44 magnum it was solid steel cast
And in the blessed name of Elvis well I just let it blast
'Til my TV lay in pieces there at my feet
And they busted me for disturbin' the almighty peace
Judge said "What you got in your defense son?"
"Fifty-seven channels and nothin' on"
I can see by your eyes friend you're just about gone
Fifty-seven channels and nothin' on...
Fifty-seven channels and nothin'

22. I like Boston Legal, even if it is a cartoon.
Edited on Tue Dec-02-08 08:00 AM by TexasObserver
I usually hate lawyer shows (like that horrible The Practice), but Boston Legal is strictly theater, a caricature designed to lampoon, and to chase rainbows. I enjoy it, but one should never take seriously the "battles" they contrive. It's entertainment.

Employees serve at will in many states, and can be fired for any or no reason. If he were going to fire her for voting for someone, he wouldn't announce it. He'd claim it was for something else, something unassailable. She offended clients on the phone, for example. Or she didn't get work done fast enough. Or she came in late. Or took too many coffee breaks. But that isn't a good story, so the one written creates a situation which would not likely happen.

But yeah, it's a funny show, well acted. Eventually, I'll get the whole series on DVD and watch it at my leisure. I've seen probably a dozen shows.
